What It's All About...

Rise like lions after slumberMy friend Bernie says he can't believe the American people haven't figured out what it's all about. "The whole damn political scene is nothing but a corporate media freak show," he said. "There's no breathing room between elections -- no time nor interest in investigating, or even addressing, issues that are critical to our survival as a nation. The minute every last dollar is sucked out of the competition, the candidate who bought the most attack ads -- the most face time -- wins, and the election is over. Then," Bernie said with disgust, "it's time to start raising money for the next election, because the media is already out there campaigning."
In unvanquishable number.
Shake your chains to earth, like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you--
Ye are many, they are few.

Al Gore's Plan Goes Far Beyond What Congress Envisions

Just the other day, Mr. Gore not only launched The Climate Project-India to continue the worldwide grassroots education many need to inspire action, he also stated in a videoconference that business was leading politicians on this. That is because he is in the private sector spurring on the change that needs to come from the right sectors in order for political will to have that tipping point. Yet, where is the support for all of the work he is now doing on this? How far have we come in one year's time to really stand up for this planet? It is sad to see that my skepticism regarding Congress was true.

The Grand American Puppet Show

Each year, it seems, the Grand American Puppet Show is getting longer, and the assortment of characters more diverse and talented. This time the curtain was lifted in the middle of 2006, more than two years before the Grand American Puppet Choice Day--er, excuse me, Election Day. The first two characters to appear on stage were New York Senator Hillary Clinton, representing the Democratic Party, and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, representing the Republican Party.

The Last Founder Standing

"If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We need to go far -- quickly." ~~ Al GoreNo entity in this once-proud nation is more corrupt than its shallow, hubris-infested media. Any pricks of conscience the media may have felt for covering up the treasonous seizure of the 2000 election were swept away in the swirl of terror following the attack on 9-11. The "big story" to confront George Bush when he returned from his month-long vacation in September 2001, his approval numbers tanking, was that Al Gore got more votes than any Democrat in US history -- nearly a half-million more than Bush. It was that five conservative Supreme Court judges stopped the vote count that would prove Gore won because, in their unsigned decision, they wrote such a democratic win would cause "public acceptance," which would "cast a cloud over Bush's legitimacy" and thus harm "democratic stability."

Al Gore Investing In The Future

Al Gore's next act: Planet-saving VC
The recovering politician is teaming with a legendary venture capitalist and bigtime moneyman to make over the $6 trillion global energy business. A Fortune exclusive.
Now, joining a venture capital firm may not seem like such a move, but when you look into what invesments are made and the motives behind them, in Mr. Gore's case it is indeed to further the truth that leads to action that leads to peace.

Al Gore Triumphed Over Adversity

A man who was prepared to serve and had been rightfully elected to occupy the presidency instead moved into private life. This occurred after he had valiantly overcome an effort by powerful elements of the mainstream media to depict him as a "serial exaggerator" and, inferentially, some kind of policy geek with a penchant for environmental extremism.
The tragic irony emerging from the bitterly divisive 2000 election fight was the misrepresentation of both presidential candidates. George W. Bush was depicted as a "regular guy", the kind of person to whom Americans could relate.
Bush's promise to be a chief executive above party affiliation and dedicated to ending party division by changing the tone of government was never seriously challenged by the mainstream media. There was no challenge despite the use of scurrilous lies to defeat fellow Republican John McCain in the South Carolina primary.
