Now is the time for Hilary Clinton to take a bold position that in one brilliant, courageous stroke shows the nation that she is more willing to pursue true reforms of the two-party plutocratic political system than Obama is.

America's political system is a large and complex criminal conspiracy.  Most voters enable it without benefiting from it.  Voting is a ploy of the two-party power elites to keep the population docile, delusional and duped.  Our government has been hijacked in plain sight, despite elections.  We cannot get it back by voting.  All the main candidates are part of the conspiracy.  Voting only encourages them.  In our fake democracy corrupt politicians use doses of voting as a political narcotic.  We must free more Americans of the addiction.  Otherwise they will keep hallucinating that some Democratic or Republican President or controlled Congress will actually give us the changes we crave for.

As self-professed champion of the Constitution presidential candidate Ron Paul has missed a monumental opportunity to educate Americans about the criminal behavior of Congress in violating their oath of office.  Even more important, he has not taken advantage of his 15 minutes of fame to promote the nation's first-time use of what the Founders gave us in the Constitution in case the public lost confidence in the federal government - the Article V convention option.

Why would a prominent professor supposedly in favor of having the nation's second constitutional convention organize a symposium where the keynote speaker is dead set against a convention?  And why pack the three subsequent panels with people against a convention?  I kept asking myself these questions as I attended the recent symposium that Larry Sabato had the audacity to title "National Constitution Convention."

Among the millions of Americans frustrated with the refusal by the federal government to forcefully control illegal immigration is South Carolina Senator Glenn McConnell.  As President Pro Tempore of the Senate McConnell has explained why he is calling for the nation's first use of the US Constitution's Article V provision for a convention of state delegates to propose constitutional amendments.

We no longer can trust Congress to impeach and remove a terrible president.  The Washington Post has published an op-ed piece by Robert Dallek that proposes a constitutional amendment to allow "ouster by the people" for removing a president other than by impeachment or because of incapacity.  Considering the dismal performance of George W. Bush and his administration and the difficulty in obtaining impeachment, this is a fine idea.

All over the Internet are sincere efforts to reform and improve America's political-government system.  The downside is fragmentation of the subpopulation that has escaped brainwashing, cultural distraction, and self-delusion.  Strategy solidarity is missing, but is possible.

When someone in high elected office shows the nation how vulnerable our Constitution is, we should be thankful for the wakeup call.  Like many ruthless dictators, evil kings, and monster generals, Dick Cheney is the leading practitioner of the ends-justify-the-means mentality, where only his vision of the desired ends counts.

And if this means disregarding and disobeying the Constitution, torturing prisoners, killing thousands of American soldiers, disrespecting Congress, destroying our environment, embracing the invasion of illegal immigrants, increasing out national debt, and disregarding the will of the vast majority of Americans, so be it.  Serving corporate interests rather than serving the people is Cheney's brand of patriotism.

According to a report not yet released, the Council on Science and Public Health of the American Medical Association has recommended that a chronic and widespread affliction of Americans be officially declared a psychiatric disorder.  It has been named the Political Attention Deficit Disorder (PADD).  It is recommended that the disorder be included in a widely used mental illness manual created and published by the American Psychiatric Association.  The current manual was published in 1994; the next edition is to be completed in 2012.  The benefit to people of an official classification is coverage by health insurance.

The frog-in-boiling water model helps us understand political upheavals: how citizens wake up early enough (or too late) to respond to social and economic oppression.  Sometimes the greed and arrogance of Ruling Classes makes them careless and social waters heat too quickly.  Sensing doom, alert citizen-frogs escape or revolt.  Or they stay complacent and boil.  The Bush Administration has turned the heat up on us, explaining why nearly 75 percent of Americans believe their country is on the wrong track and 70 percent think the economy is worsening.

The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal national poll results vividly show a population incredibly dissatisfied with their nation's political system.  In other countries in other times such a depressing level of confidence in government would send a signal to those running the government that a major upheaval is imminent.  But not here in the USA.  Why?

First, here are the highlights of the poll that surveyed 1,008 adults from June 8-11, with a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points.

A whopping 68 percent think the country is on the wrong track.    Just 19 percent believe the country is headed in the right direction - the lowest number on that question in nearly 15 years.  And most of those with the positive view are probably in the Upper Class.

There are numerous reasons to admire you, as I have for many years.  Clearly you are running for president as a Republican, rather than a third party candidate, for the sole purpose of getting media and public attention not available to those outside the two-party duopoly.  In last night's debate among Republican presidential candidates you proudly described yourself as a "champion of the Constitution."  However, you are missing a major opportunity to demonstrate your courage and allegiance to our constitutional republic.

Condemn progressives for voting enthusiastically for Democrats and the inevitable response is something like "just imagine how much worse voting for Republicans would be."  Similarly, many true conservatives and Libertarians see voting for Republicans as a necessary evil.  With many progressives regretting giving Democrats a majority in Congress and many conservatives regretting putting George W. Bush in the White House, it is timely to refute lesser evil logic.

For so many, hope is down the drain.  Hard to fault them.  Abundant evidence shows our insane world sliding down a global cheese grater.

Fish are dying in the Great Lakes.  Bees have disappeared.  Polar ice caps and glaciers worldwide are melting faster than ever.  A global pandemic of a drug-resistant strain of TB is coming at us.  Much of the U.S. food supply is highly vulnerable because of imports and totally inadequate government scrutiny.  Politicians keep lying.  Americans keep dying.  Too many senselessly in the insane Iraq war that our delusional president cherishes and our cowardly Congress refuses to stop.  Others die because of lax gun laws.  Even more because they can't get quality medical care.  And the icing on the fungus-infested cake: the richest one percent of Americans captures 19 percent of the nation's income.  As the rich become super-rich, economic injustice and inequality punish most debt-loaded Americans, with millions facing bankruptcy and home foreclosure.

Americans have always accepted a certain level of economic inequality as the inevitable consequence of an open capitalist society where some people through their own efforts do better than others.  The presumption is that there is fairness in the marketplace and economic system.  What a quaint, outdated belief.  

Do most Americans really believe that the game is not rigged by rich powerful elites to preferentially benefit them?  As certain as the law of gravity, the game IS rigged, and more than ever.
