David McKenzie of Federal Way, Washington in his letter to the Seattle Times Editors on May 30 wrote:

"O.K., Bush supporters, this time it isn't a `liberal whacker' saying it.  It's from a longtime Bush friend and loyalist who finally got a conscience.  Straight from former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan, President Bush lied to the people to sell this tragic war in Iraq.  It has always been obvious to the majority, now even you have to open your eyes."

Were some American voters, along with certain members of the media brigade, complicit in the Iraq War debacle by vigorously backing Bush with their votes for Bush's second term?

Only each individual's conscience can answer.  The biblical yardstick to judge `right' and `wrong' is quite simple but all encompassing.  

The above headline was President Ronald Reagan's famous saying, which became a Republican big business "mantra."

The passage of time permits us to fairly analyze this popular big business slogan to see exactly how it worked in practice.

In 2008 we vividly see how decidedly dangerous and foolish Reagan's slogan really was.

By 2008 the meltdown of the mortgage market demonstrates dramatically what happened when the government "got off" regulating the U.S. banks' mortgage loan departments.

200,000 dead!  2 million displaced!

While the Bush Administration was spending billions to bring freedom and democracy to Iraq, or so those Republican leaders told us, all hell broke loose in a violent sectarian war.  

The most horrifying wars of all are religious wars.  How many of those Republican leaders such as Tom DeLay (former pest exterminator) and Dennis Hastert (former wrestling coach/teacher) were well grounded in historical knowledge of the Dark Ages or of Middle East religion and politics?

Sadly name value, such as Reagan the actor, Schwarzenegger the actor, or Jesse Ventura the wrestler, were all names and careers with which a lot of voters could easily identify.
