Truth v. Ideology

With the shattering of the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, a titanic earthquake ripped through the United States and quickly swept across the world. Two shock waves of anger and patriotism predictably met at a point on the globe opposite the United States: the Middle East. Osama bin Laden and his evil cohorts were identified as the enemies, and they were in for a shakedown by the glorious US military. The terrorists of 9/11 declared war on the US, and war is what they got. In this cosmic battle against religiously inspired terrorists, America wages war on the side of good and the terrorists fight on the side of evil. Americans have been wakened from their postmodern, anything-goes slumber to the reality that, like it or not, the United States has a mission to save the world from evil. How much clearer could it get?

Attack Of The Clones On Al Gore

Is Dennis Avery a legitimate skeptic, or a corporate shill? Well, considering these press releases always specifically target Al Gore and not address the facts he presents that represent an entire scientific community, one can only surmise that it is the latter and not the former.

In The Spirit Of Al Gore's The Assault On Reason: We Must Move From Politics To Morality

By LadyInBlack

I originally wrote this two weeks before I read Al Gore's The Assault On Reason. I am posting it again after reading his book because these words mean even more to me, even though he has stated that impeachment is not an option now. I really don't know if he truly believes that in his heart, but I do know that since reading his book I am even more convinced that impeachment is indeed the only way to regain what we have allowed to be taken from us, and that it too is not a political but a moral issue.

Thank you, Al Gore For Liberating Me Too

I cannot only imagine how freeing it is for Al Gore to not be constrained by political campaigns, handlers and schedules in his daily life, I can celebrate it because now that he is free of the pretense that goes with it, so am I as a supporter of his.

Media Out To Get Al Gore For The Assault On Reason

By LadyInBlack
05/24/2007 09:20:57 AM EST
Remember this media talking point now: Al Gore only wrote The Assault On Reason as a precursor to a presidential run, not as the intelligent cogent argument of a statesman for the rule of reason. Right. This from a man who has totally excoriated the political process in this country and shown the media for the corporate propaganda arm of the government that it is. Oh yes, this is definitely the work of a man who wants to get back in that muck himself and is only pulling the wool over our eyes with this book...Well, at least that is the way it is depicted by those so far interviewing Al Gore regarding his new book, The Assault On Reason, and I see it as a deliberate attempt to divert discussion from the truth in the book and it seems many are also taking the bait.

Regarding The Last Temptation of Al Gore

By LadyInBlack

If people are that complacent and apathetic to allow the Constitutional abuses this regime committed, and if the people are that content or afraid to truly take on the challenges that lie before us, why should a good man like Al Gore have to take it upon his shoulders? Why is it always HIS duty and not ours?

The Assault on Reason, by the Honorable Al Gore is to be released by Penguin Press on May 22 which is in about three weeks. It is reported to be about the difficulty politics has with making decisions based on facts and reason, and using this current regime as the prime example of corruption, fear mongering, and the assault on reason that seeks to bind the soul in perpetual servitude to those interests that represent the antithesis of all our Constitution stands for.

The Assault On Reason: By Al Gore

I am very happy to see Al Gore pursuing this avenue in speaking his mind on these issues now being out of the political beltway that I don't believe ever truly appreciated his prescience and intelligence on these matters. It has certainly given him the chance to be a great advocate for the people and for Democracy to truthfully speak his mind on issues of great importance to the life of our Democracy without worrying about what "handlers" will say, which also extends to the truth of An Inconvenient Truth.

Truth is Speaking....Is Power Listening?

Carolyn Baker interviewed by Jason Miller
Deep crimson stains mottle the pages of humanity's history. Untold numbers of souls who were skewered, decapitated, eviscerated, or obliterated in anonymity scream out for recognition as one peruses humankind's memoirs. While our historical manuscript is also generously dappled by the milk of human kindness, much of our narrative is dominated by tales of man's savage cruelty to man.

Al Gore's Response To Bush's Dangerous Space Policy

By LadyInBlack

Al Gore's response on this dangerous program is below, which I agree with. Just what will it take before we realize the capabilities we have to destroy ourselves, and that in the hands of the wrong people that well may come to pass?

Al Gore's New Book, "The Assault On Reason"

By LadyInBlack

That is the title of the next book to be released by Mr. Gore, scheduled for next May (2007.) It is to be released by Penguin Press. It is reported to be about the difficulty politics has with making decisions based on facts and reason. I am sure it will then go into great detail regarding the Democracy crisis we face on the whole, and the name of the book does sound like something Thomas Jefferson would have written.

Truth per Hutchinson, McCain, Lugar, and more

By zesty grapher

What is truth? In January of 1999, several United States Senators outdid themselves in calling for `truth' `honesty' and `integrity in the oval office. Anything less would confuse our children and destroy our society.
Here is my second diary from researching the Congressional Records, I have pointed out statements that are so powerful they still reverberate today. As with my first diary, I did not take their statements out of context, or play with quotes to change their meaning.

Cornered by the Truth

By Sheila Samples

Unless they are stopped, George Bush and Tony Blair will continue their ghoulish dance of death until a mushroom cloud covers Planet Earth like an umbrella...
Elwood Bush: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses!
Jake Blair: Hit it!
Elwood Bush: They're not gonna catch us! We're on a mission from God!
It was bizarre at first; even amusing in a hideous little way. When George "Elwood" Bush and Tony "Jake" Blair scrambled up on the international stage shortly after 9-11 and broke into their frenzied Blues Brothers routine, I fully expected the US Congress, the UK Parliament and citizens on both sides of the Atlantic to snort in derision and get up and walk out of the theater. I mean, c'mon...
