Broadcasting Humanity: An Interview With Link TV's David Michaelis Email Print

The diary below was originally posted earlier today in my blog the, Intrepid Liberal Journal.

Two years ago, David Michaelis, an Israeli citizen and Jamal Dajani, a Palestinian-American traveled to their mutual birthplace in Jerusalem and filmed a groundbreaking documentary called "Occupied Minds". The film originally aired in 2005 and powerfully illustrated the widening gulf between two entangled peoples in pain.

Both men grew up in Jerusalem just a few miles apart but in entirely different universes. Jamal's roots in Jerusalem can be traced to the 7th century, while Michaelis was born in Jerusalem to parents who left Germany in the 1920's because of escalating anti-Semitism.

Bush Credits Others with Assistance in Bringing Down Al-Zarqawi Email Print

President Bush, seen participating in "Operation Falafel"

Baghdad, Iraq (Rotters) - With Iraq and the middle east abuzz over the news of the death of Al-Qaeda lieutenant mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, president Bush today revealed his personal role in the killing. After an all night flight from New Mexico aboard Air Force One, Bush talked of his role with the combined Iraqi-American forces in laying down suppressive fire to pin down Zarqawi's group while waiting on the helicopter air strike.

"It got kind of hot and heavy there for a while," stated the president, "but we eventually smoked him, as they say. I wanted in on this one, because it was personal... they went after my dad."

Rumsfeld lying or did Zarqawi grow a new leg? Email Print

Remember Zarqawi?  You know..the guy they use to "prove" there was an Al Qaeda - Saddam connection?  The guy who was supposedlly in Bagdhad to GET HIS LEG AMPUTATED??!?!?!?

Watch the video for yourself. Look around 1:50 (preview) and again around 25:20 (more extended portion) you see he is clearly walking without a limp in SAND!

They must have some pretty amazing prosthetics in Iraq.  On top of  that..even if he was a below the knee amputee... how do you explain the
refitting for new prosthesis with the obvious weight gain in recent years?

Iran is not building any nukes whatsoever. Email Print

In winning the debate over Iran, there is only one talking point you need to remember: Iran is not building any nukes. All of the scientific evidence points to this fact. Iran does not have the capacity to make centrifuges for its own reactor, let alone make weapons-grade uranium.

Donald Rumsfeld talked about the role of the Bush administration in history in his op-ed yesterday. But given the fact that Iraq had no WMD's, given the fact that there is no crisis in Social Security, and given the fact that Iran is not building any nukes, the Bush administration will go down in history as the administration that cried wolf.

Do we really want to find these guys? Email Print

Does the US really want to find Zarqawi or

Bin Laden?  I say the following using BASIC LOGIC, WHICH IS SORELY LACKING IN AMERICANS THESE DAYS.  With the American govt. and the American military basically in control of the world, there is no way we could not find top leaders supposedly hiding out in apartments and caves.  Thus, the only logical explanation for this "failure" is that either we do not wish to find these characters (and you fill in the whys), or they do not really even exist anymore!

An entire diary or front page article should be done on this topic, as I believe this entire issue is really just the recurrent bogeyman-fear theme that the Repubs constantly seem to need to control many Americans (communism, Vietnam, terrorism, child kidnapping and on an on).  What does that say about many of us?
