Al Gore's Ten Year Energy Challenge Email Print

Al Gore gave us a momentous challenge this past Thursday by calling upon us to have the same spirit that birthed this nation to address the climate crisis and make no mistake about it, this is just as much an issue of Democracy as it is an economic, environmental, or national security issue.

What It's All About... Email Print

Rise like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number.
Shake your chains to earth, like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you--
Ye are many, they are few.
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
My friend Bernie says he can't believe the American people haven't figured out what it's all about. "The whole damn political scene is nothing but a corporate media freak show," he said. "There's no breathing room between elections -- no time nor interest in investigating, or even addressing, issues that are critical to our survival as a nation. The minute every last dollar is sucked out of the competition, the candidate who bought the most attack ads -- the most face time -- wins, and the election is over. Then," Bernie said with disgust, "it's time to start raising money for the next election, because the media is already out there campaigning."

Al Gore's Plan Goes Far Beyond What Congress Envisions Email Print

I wrote this last year right after Al Gore appeared on Capitol Hill to give testimony about the effects of climate change and how the climate crisis is now and will effect this planet. Today is one year since that testomony wherein he explained that the Arctic ice cap should it all go will not come back in any timeframe relevant to the human species. However, I still don't see the urgency that needs to be seen by enough of US to begin doing what we must to mitigate this.

Just the other day, Mr. Gore not only launched The Climate Project-India to continue the worldwide grassroots education many need to inspire action, he also stated in a videoconference that business was leading politicians on this. That is because he is in the private sector spurring on the change that needs to come from the right sectors in order for political will to have that tipping point. Yet, where is the support for all of the work he is now doing on this? How far have we come in one year's time to really stand up for this planet? It is sad to see that my skepticism regarding Congress was true.

The Grand American Puppet Show Email Print

July 6, 2007

Each year, it seems, the Grand American Puppet Show is getting longer, and the assortment of characters more diverse and talented. This time the curtain was lifted in the middle of 2006, more than two years before the Grand American Puppet Choice Day--er, excuse me, Election Day. The first two characters to appear on stage were New York Senator Hillary Clinton, representing the Democratic Party, and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, representing the Republican Party.

Senate Climate Skeptic Report Partisan Attack On Al Gore Email Print

This report sounds like something the German Parliament would issue during WW2 to tell the people that the Holocaust is not happening, and if it is the Nazis are not responsible for it. Personally, I have no political biases regarding my views on climate change. I don't support Al Gore's view because I am a "Democrat." I support his view on climate change and that of the PEER REVIEWED scientists across this globe who are actually posting the data and connecting the dots because I have armed myself with the knowledge I need to see with my own eyes...

Al Gore In Oslo To Meet His Destiny Email Print

Al Gore has arrived in Oslo, Norway, in preparation for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize this coming Monday, December 10, in Oslo City Hall. To me this is more than just a date to collect a prize. This is a date with his destiny and more importantly, the beginning of a new chapter.

The Last Founder Standing Email Print

"If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We need to go far -- quickly." ~~ Al Gore
No entity in this once-proud nation is more corrupt than its shallow, hubris-infested media. Any pricks of conscience the media may have felt for covering up the treasonous seizure of the 2000 election were swept away in the swirl of terror following the attack on 9-11. The "big story" to confront George Bush when he returned from his month-long vacation in September 2001, his approval numbers tanking, was that Al Gore got more votes than any Democrat in US history -- nearly a half-million more than Bush. It was that five conservative Supreme Court judges stopped the vote count that would prove Gore won because, in their unsigned decision, they wrote such a democratic win would cause "public acceptance," which would "cast a cloud over Bush's legitimacy" and thus harm "democratic stability."

Al Gore Investing In The Future Email Print

This is an absolutely brilliant move on the part of Al Gore. With this move he will now be able to use the Nobel Peace Prize he will receive in a ceremony in Oslo next month to truly seek effective and expedient changes in how the world does business, which will hopefully foster peace.

Al Gore's next act: Planet-saving VC
The recovering politician is teaming with a legendary venture capitalist and bigtime moneyman to make over the $6 trillion global energy business. A Fortune exclusive.

Now, joining a venture capital firm may not seem like such a move, but when you look into what invesments are made and the motives behind them, in Mr. Gore's case it is indeed to further the truth that leads to action that leads to peace.

Clearing The Air Regarding Al Gore Email Print

It has come to my attention that some people on certain blogs and venues on the Internet do not like the fact that I support Al Gore's endeavors  based on their merits, or that I support him regardless of his politics, and that I haven't jumped on the "run Al run" bandwagon because I respect his words.

Al Gore Triumphed Over Adversity Email Print

Nobody other than Al Gore could know how it felt to be cheated out of the presidency after winning in the popular vote category and in the Electoral College as well once that Republican Party vote theft in Florida was fully investigated.

A man who was prepared to serve and had been rightfully elected to occupy the presidency instead moved into private life.  This occurred after he had valiantly overcome an effort by powerful elements of the mainstream media to depict him as a "serial exaggerator" and, inferentially, some kind of policy geek with a penchant for environmental extremism.

The tragic irony emerging from the bitterly divisive 2000 election fight was the misrepresentation of both presidential candidates.  George W. Bush was depicted as a "regular guy", the kind of person to whom Americans could relate.

Bush's promise to be a chief executive above party affiliation and dedicated to ending party division by changing the tone of government was never seriously challenged by the mainstream media.  There was no challenge despite the use of scurrilous lies to defeat fellow Republican John McCain in the South Carolina primary.

Al Gore has No "Duty" To Run For Anything Email Print

With all Al Gore has done and is continuing to do some groups still don't think his work worthy enough to support on its merits so they continue to push him to return to a toxic system that ignored the climate crisis for thirty years. They don't seem to see the big picture, nor do I believe they have grown as Mr. Gore has through all of the experiences he has been through in the past few years. They use the excuse that it is his "moral duty" to run for president this time out as if his fulfilling what he sees as his moral duty to this planet isn't good enough for them. At this point I can then only think they are continuing to push him despite his statements that he has no plans to be a candidate again for purely selfish personal political reasons so they don't have to fulfill their duty.
