Yes, once again we hear the clamoring from the media that Al Gore is only allowing them five minutes in the room with him before giving his presentation on Aruba going green this next week...

Al Gore's name being added to a new environmental school in LA is an irony, but not the way rightwing bloggers are spinning it. It actually comes right back on them.

Hateful atmosphere in the blogosphere concerning Al Gore. I think we need to look a lot deeper than James Jay Lee to see the source of it on all sides.

Al Gore was correct when he stated we needed a climate movement in this country. And after watching what took place in Washington DC yesterday, I am convinced we need it now more than ever.

In a post on his blog yesterday, Al Gore called for climate protests in America in response to the betrayal by our Congress in doing its moral duty to address the climate crisis. This is no small news, (though it will be treated as such in our media) this is a clarion call to begin a social movement to reclaim our soul as a nation and our moral conscience as a species make no mistake about that.

Al Gore has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the allegations brought against him. And you could hear a pin drop in the halls of rumor and innuendo...

Recent events have given Al Gore's detractors a chance to declare open season on not only his reputation but the very science behind global warming. I think they are all in for a rude awakening on both counts.

As I'm sure those who may be reading this now know, new accusations years old have surfaced in the latest attempt to shut up Al Gore. And I say that because it looks so obvious based on the timing, and because of the response it is getting from the usual suspects who always froth at the mouth just at the mention of his name.

Nobel Peace Prize recipient and former Vice President of the United States Al Gore has a new book out entitled, Our Choice: A Plan To Solve The Climate Crisis. In reading this book however, it became more to me than just a plan to solve the climate crisis. It is a book to solve the human crisis.

In covering the environmental abuses of Monsanto one who is cognizant of the special relationship we have with the Earth cannot help but be repulsed by them. There is not one redeeming quality about them. They are arrogant, heartless, greedy, manipulative power brokers that use people, governments, organizations, consumers, and anyone else who gets in their way of domination. It is a domination of the global seed and pesticide market that is now bringing our Earth to a biodiversity and pollution crisis and a climate change precipice.

I usually do not comment on Mr. Gore's personal life, but in this case I feel I have to make a comment based on the fact that I have supported him for many years and have followed his work and essentially his life in those years and am repulsed by the continuing media assault on him and now his family.

So as a supporter of him and his work, I'm going to now be honest about my feelings regarding his involvement with Hollywood types who in my eyes are no different than Washington DC soul suckers and the media who is their willing accomplice:

I am the earth. You are the earth. The Earth is dying. You and I are murderers.

What a sorry lot we humans are, particularly those of us immersed in the "American Way of Life." Killing is indeed our business. And business has never been better.

Al Gore gave us a momentous challenge this past Thursday by calling upon us to have the same spirit that birthed this nation to address the climate crisis and make no mistake about it, this is just as much an issue of Democracy as it is an economic, environmental, or national security issue.

This week was Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. It also was the fifth aniversary of Bush's infamous "Mission Accomplished" speech. This aniversary was unique in that for the first time the Bush administration has admitted that the banner was a huge mistake...though John McCain blamed it on the military, excusing Bush for the fiasco. The Republicans are finally acknowledgig the dismal failure of "Mission Accomplished" but refuse to take the blame. Typical. Absolutely typical. Republicans wouldn't know responsibility if it bit them in the ass.

Al Gore has arrived in Oslo, Norway, in preparation for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize this coming Monday, December 10, in Oslo City Hall. To me this is more than just a date to collect a prize. This is a date with his destiny and more importantly, the beginning of a new chapter.
