It seems like I am always in a collection mode of some sort when I find images of something that is the topic of the day. I find and save to the computer hard drive every image that I like and will return at another time to compare and review the images on the computer hard drive. I had an unfortunate experience a long time ago when my web host got hacked and all the files were lost. I didn't have any backups so I basically lost two years worth of blog posts and comments. I've learned the hard way so nowadays, I perform a daily backup my WordPress database and make sure I have a backup of all my theme, plug-in and other miscellaneous files that I use on my blog. So the key to anything is not to loose what you have saved.

Al Gore was correct when he stated we needed a climate movement in this country. And after watching what took place in Washington DC yesterday, I am convinced we need it now more than ever.

Millions of Americans are today unemployed because the free market is not working for them. Millions of Americans have lost their homes because the free market did not work for them or for the banks.  Before the health care bill passed last January millions could not get health care because the free market worked for them when they were healthy but often did not work at all when they needed care.

The free market sent jobs to China and Mexico, India and Taiwan. The free market encouraged subprime mortgages and collateralized debt obligations that were collages of numbers that the market itself did not understand.  The free market encouraged insurance companies to compete for ways not to pay for health care rather than to encourage ways to provide health care.

In a post on his blog yesterday, Al Gore called for climate protests in America in response to the betrayal by our Congress in doing its moral duty to address the climate crisis. This is no small news, (though it will be treated as such in our media) this is a clarion call to begin a social movement to reclaim our soul as a nation and our moral conscience as a species make no mistake about that.

Last night I was part of a conference call/town hall meeting event with Repower America which included remarks by it's Chariman, former Vice President Al Gore.

Reading this article about an appearance he made in Mexico this past week to discuss climate change you get the distinct impression the media there is just so disappointed they didn't get to be a part of his entire discussion because they just care so much about climate change. Hogwash.

Two of the world's richest men and the Spanish government have pledged $150m (£101.7m) to battle disease and improve health in Central America and Mexico. Carlos Slim and Bill Gates are to fund a project jointly with Spain aimed at improving nutrition and maternal health and fighting dengue fever and malaria. The two men and Spain's Princess Cristina announced the project in the Mexican capital, Mexico City. The project also aims to reduce infant mortality and boost vaccination rates.

Al Gore has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the allegations brought against him. And you could hear a pin drop in the halls of rumor and innuendo...

Recent events have given Al Gore's detractors a chance to declare open season on not only his reputation but the very science behind global warming. I think they are all in for a rude awakening on both counts.

In a July 12 press release, the Birmingham based JAG said it was launching a "Nelson & Kagan" ad campaign by co-hosting a press conference that day in Omaha, NE. The group confirms the effort is meant "to put pressure on Sen. Nelson to vote "No" on Kagan."  JAG said it was co-hosting the July 12 event with Jennifer Hulsey of Tea Party Express, Doug Kagan of Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom, and Benjamin Smith (former Navy seal) of Move America Forward.  They say similar Pressers and TV ad buys will occur Tues in Little Rock, AR and Thurs in Columbia, SC.
