DSCC Fundraising Drive...Contribute Now! Email Print

There are 365 days left until the midterm elections, and the DSCC is already coming out swinging.  Senator Ron Wyden has pledged to match your contribution, dollar for dollar, until November 2, 2005:

We stand almost exactly 365 days from our big chance to take back the Senate.  But if we don't do the important things now, none of the plans we make over the next 12 months will matter.  We can't win next year's elections today in 2005, but we sure can lose them.

To show the Republicans that we will compete with them throughout 2006, the DSCC has set a goal to raise $365,000 online by November 7 of this year - exactly one year before the election.  That's an extra $1,000 we can spend every day getting our positive Democratic message to the American people.

Sen. Ron Wyden will personally match dollar-for-dollar every online donation that the DSCC receives before our deadline.  Help us meet our goal.  Please make a contribution today.

Contribute as much as you can feasibly afford.  Every dollar not only counts...it counts double.

I'm going to have to contribute. Wyden is a former employer, and the thought of Ron having to pony up some dough because of me is fun.

Is this going to be another site joined at the hip with the Democratic Party? I would really like to see a serious effort to make the DSCC (and the rest of the Dem establishment) sweat, instead of complaining all the time then falling in line behind them.

And I know all the arguments...so save your energy. It's just so continually disappointing that so much well-meaning effort and passion is going to go to waste into a system that needs radical reform, and yet so many just keep beating a dead horse.

If all progressives would just do things that would really make a difference, it could have happened a long time ago. I'm old enough to have seen this pattern repeated over and over. I have absolutely no hope that the next year or the next electoral cycle will be any different than the last or the one before that, unless those who think different, DO something different.

Forgive me for being negative, but it's just frustrating to see this go on and on. Go on and berate or ban me. I'm too dispairing to care.
