Judging By The Distance from DeLay's Money Email Print

Hello.  My name is Barry Welsh, and I am going to be the Democratic Challenger to Congressman Mike Pence in Indiana's 6th District. I invite you to www.barrywelsh.org to learn more and to support the effort.  I have issued a public challenge to Congressman Pence in regards to the money he has accepted from Tom DeLay's machine, in a letter to the editor to the 6th district media.  I invite you to read it, as I think this is a unique and hopefully effective approach.

Congressman Pence leads the RSC who has proposed "Operation Offset" cutting the budget in unbelievable areas.  Word is he is trying to position himself behind the scenes to become the next Majority Leader.

Notable Editors and News Directors;

There is an investigation into the stock dealings of Senator Bill Frist.
There are inquiries regarding the National Security leak exposing a CIA
agent, that appear to reach the top levels of President Bush's
Administration. There are the charges of cronyism and unqualified people in
positions of National importance. And, there is Representative Tom DeLay,
under two indictments for money laundering and federal finance violations.

Congressman Mike Pence has taken money ($19,865.00)from Representative DeLay
's organization, ARMPAC Americans for A Republican Majority, which after
investigation is currently under Grand Jury indictment. There are some that
might feel that Congressman Pence will be `guilty by association', from this
potential criminal situation, and I hope that Congressman Pence will do the
right thing and distance himself.

Many have called for him to give the money back. I am publicly asking
Congressman Pence to distance himself from the nineteen plus thousand
dollars he has taken from Rep. DeLay's Organization, by donating One
Thousand Dollars to each of the Family and Children's Services Bureau's in
the nineteen counties of the 6th Congressional district, for Foster
Children.

The money should not go back to Tom DeLay, and Congressman Pence should
remove himself from even a hint of impropriety. Honorable Congressman, I
hope that you agree.

Barry Welsh

6th District Democratic Candidate for Congress

And a very well-designed site you have there. I love your theme about "People Before Profits."  It rings clear, and it shows integrity.  Best of luck to you and your campaign!

"Representative DeLay's organization, ARMPAC Americans for A Republican Majority, which after investigation is currently under Grand Jury indictment"

Is ARMPAC now under indictment?

I wrote to my congressman, Charlie Dent (PA-15) about returning the 10 grand he got from ARMPAC. He wrote a snitty letter back to me in which he distanced ARMPAC from Delay, calling it "an organization with which Mr. DeLay has been affiliated." He also tried to downplay the two indictments against DeLay by stressing that one of the grand juries "refused" to indict DeLay. Apparently DeLay's second indictment came from a 3rd GJ. The second GJ did not indict. All that's another story.

BUT if ARMPAC is now under indictment, maybe I'll write to Dent again.

It's neat to see candidates come and engage the netroots as more than just ATMs.

We could really use some more Dems from Indiana, that's for sure! Best of luck and keep us in the loop. :)

All for the Well Wishes.  I do want to clear something up.  ARMPAC is not under inditment at this time.  Congressman DeLay is.

This is not a one time stop for me.  I will be here and actively posting and listening.
