U.S. Woman Plans to Marry Man Who Shot Her Email Print

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - A woman said she still plans to marry the man who shot her in the groin and then held her hostage in his family's garage for six days.

Tina Marie Stebbins revealed her intentions in a letter released Monday as her boyfriend, Christian Leroy Lindblad, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting her in June 2002, the Press-Enterprise newspaper of South California reported Tuesday.

"I love Christian today as deeply as I loved him before this awful thing happened to us," Stebbins wrote in a victim impact statement. "We are soul mates."

I wonder what the vows would be.

At least she's seen the worst of him up front and thinks she can live with it, eh?

OT ... what's up with the "South California?" Who says that? It's Southern California, for crying out loud.

And further OT ... the newspaper referenced in there, the Press-Enterprise, was the one I worked for (it was the daily that owned my weekly).

she's just angling for a made-for-tv-movie deal. It is South California, after all. ;-)

It's gotta go downhill, doncha think? All the drama's front-loaded in this script. Even if murder eventually happens down the line, it's not going to live up to that opening.

There's the "redemption" thing. That could go for most any broadcast network. There's the woman in danger thing--perfect for Lifetime. There's the eventual her killing him in self-defense--Court TV. I think she's got her bases covered.
