Bush's "Absolutely Excusable" List Email Print

We all know that Santa keeps a list, checks it twice, keeping track of those naughty and nice. Less well know is that President Bush also keeps a list, checks it twice, keeping track of his own device. He calls it his "Absolutely Excusable" list. It's a rather extensive list of things that simply must be "Excusable". Otherwise someone might end up on Santa's "Naughty" list. Uh oh!

Now, normally I wouldn't harp on anyone's "Absolutely Excusable" list. God knows everyone has them. But usually they don't profoundly affect the rest of the world. And besides, Bush brought it up first by suggesting that something on my personal "Absolutely Excusable" list was actually - you guessed it - INEXCUSABLE!

Bush Calls Senators' Failure To Renew Patriot Act "Inexcusable."   NBC Nightly News reported last night that in his press conference, the President also said the Patriot Act "works," and it provides "Federal agents the tools they need to track suspected terrorists and when he criticized the Senate for blocking its renewal some senators were singled out." On The CBS Evening News, Bush was shown saying, "It is inexcusable for the United States Senate to let this Patriot Act expire."

So what does Bush's "Absolutely Excusable" list consist of? What does he think is A-Okay?

Join us over the flip to find out...

Well, here are a few thoughts off the top of my head. Perhaps you could contribute a few in the comments:
