Political Cortex: Brain Food for the Body Politic

(BRG) Don't waste postage or time sending me your friends book.  Politics are my life and I am very intone with ideologies.  Not too mention, it has gotten quite cold, and it would more than likely be used for kindling.  Not withstanding, I don't have any liberal friends, as it causes too many problems, and wouldn't promote such ridiculous views.

(JDG) It is too bad that you display such intolerance for half of the citizens of our great country.  It seems to me, that we might learn from each other through intelligent debate rather than promoting hostilities.  May I remind you that Abraham Lincoln (Republican) invited his worst enemies to make up his own cabinet?  We might take from his actions that inclusion and sharing different views and ideologies are a healthy part of democracy.  And, for the record I am not re-writing history here - these facts are well documented and available in numerous historical accounts for all to read in your local library (damn liberal libraries).  I personally have many Republican friends, for whom I share respect and truly enjoy their company and the forum of democratic debate that these relationships spawn.  

(JDG) Also note: My book may make good kindling, but it makes far better reading.  I do find it interesting that you have a book-burning tendency - this actually fits your profile and helps me understand the true psyche of who you are as a person.  Throughout history, there have been many book burners before you so don't ever feel lonely.  

(BRG) I realize the indoctrination Liberals have succumbed to by the left wing media, professors, and parents of the 60's. But no matter how hard they try to ignore and re-write history, their philosophy and views will just once again show that their lack of knowledge regarding history will condemn them to repeat it. Liberal ideology has been on the wrong side of history time and time again. Evidenced by their continual defeats at the polls, for their sake, I suggest they go back to school, starting with elementary school and actually read and research, rather than allow more brainwashing.

(JDG) Let's talk about the "indoctrination Liberals have succumbed to" shall we?  We will start with the "left wing media" you brought up because this is a power myth used every day in neo-con propaganda.  I suppose Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Eva Von Zahn, Brit Hume, Tony Snow, John McLaughlin, G. Gordon Liddy, Dr. Laura, George Will, Bob Scheiffer, John Hockenberry, Ollie North, Robert Novak, Paul Weyrich, Brian Williams, Juan Williams, Mara Liason, Michael Medved, Sam and Cokie, George Steffi, Robert Novak, Bob Schneider, John Stossel, Barbara Olson, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Peggy Noonan, Andrew Sullivan and William Safire are all evil commie Liberals.  Those are just a few examples of why the media isn't Liberal.  When you look at the statistics, you may note that there are slightly more Liberal reporters running around out there but the editors that decide what those reporters report are predominantly Conservative.  Then you move up the chain of command to the corporate CEOs that hire and fire the editors, you will find the Conservatives have a virtual (if not a total) monopoly.

(JDG) Now we shall move on to the "professors" you speak of with such disdain Mr. Lobbyist (a.k.a. Pol Pot).  Professors are people that have devoted their lives to the study of every imaginable aspect of science and learning.  They have given up the opportunity to amass enormous personal wealth in the private sector so that future generations may have the opportunity to get solid educations.  Considering the amount of study they have completed and their ongoing research, they are, without doubt, the smartest people on the planet.  So you might want to go back to school yourself and listen to what they are saying.  Or just go on believing the C student, alcoholic president you love so dearly - I don't care.

(JDG) As far as the "parent's of the 60's" you blame for inciting evil ideologies in the youth of today, most of them are now Conservative Baby Boomers driving Mercedes and taking vacations in the Hamptons.  Half of these "parent's of the 60's" are the neo-con support base, so be nice to them.

(JDG) You then babble about the Liberal's lack of knowledge about history and insist they will be condemned to repeat mistakes.  And that Liberal ideology has always been on the wrong side of history.  I challenge you to dust off your own history books and start reading about Hitler and his rise.  Read Mien Kampf and you will be struck with a huge revelation.  Hitler was a hardcore Right Wing megalomaniac who loved pre-emptive war and hated Liberals almost as much as you do.  By the way I am not re-writing History here either, I'm researching and quoting the man - "Universal education is the most corroding and disintegrating poison that liberalism has ever invented for its own destruction." Adolph Hitler.  Boy, I guess Liberals really are always on the wrong side of things.  If only those Liberal Allies hadn't defeated your Rightwing Nazi demigod during WWII, you might be making twice as much money selling lies to congress.

(JDG) In your last sentence you actually acknowledge that "brainwashing" affects a large portion of the voting public.  I agree.  The only thing you have wrong is the portion of America affected by this "brainwashing."  In order to better understand how propaganda plays the contributing roll in this process I have studied the history and origins of propaganda thoroughly, then wrote a book on the subject.  If not for your book burning tendencies, I would be delighted to send you a free copy.

(BRG) It never ceases to amaze me and evidently the majority of Americans (i.e. the voting public) how low Liberals are willing to go and what desperate measures they will use to be heard. It is clear, despite all their continued vicious attacks, conspiracy theories, fabrications and revisions of history in order to support their ridiculous ideologies, and that their notion that Americans are stupid and not capable of deciding for themselves; shows how truly transparent they are.

(JDG) You have contradicted the very essence of who you are and what you do in the above paragraph.  You sir, are a lobbyist.  The premise of your job revolves around the ideology that our congressmen and women (the government's representation of `we the people') are stupid and are not capable of deciding what to do for themselves (in essence, for us) without financial coercion and/or calculated manipulation.

(JDG) Furthermore, we went to war in Iraq based on lies and propaganda.  This is not vicious attacks, fabrications or revisions of history.  It comes out of the 9/11 reports.  There was no Al Qaeda link to Iraq.  There were no weapons of mass destruction.  There were only lies saying so.  I challenge you to prove me wrong.  Where is the shred of proof?   The proof exists only in your Orwellian mind shrouded in a state of doublethink so that you need not deal with the truth that confronts you.  

(JDG) Additionally, if you want to read some vicious attacks, I challenge you to Google the list of media personalities and authors I listed above.  You will find more vicious attacks and one sided reports based on ideological propaganda than any good person should ever be subjected to.  Wake up buddy, your team is far better at using ad-hominem attacks than its opposition is.  But it's your team, so you never perceive those vicious attacks for what they are.  Open your eyes and start analyzing information for what it is rather than what your platform tells you it is.

(BRG) Alright then, now that my rant is over (I just finished a dissertation with similar statements), I guess I'll go get some ice cream.  Need to cool off anyway.

(JDG) I suggest a double martini instead.  You might need it if you ever truly come to grips with the dark forces you unknowingly support.  By recounting your regime's talking points in your dissertations you are re-enforcing a formula of branding propaganda I define as "Heavy Repetition" in my book.  It does work well, to divide, confuse and subdue a nation of good, honest people.
