Political Cortex: Brain Food for the Body Politic

Everyone seems to be making such a big deal about the fact that George Allen's mother was born Jewish. Why has Jim Talent never acknowledged his Jewish lineage via his father,who was Jewish, Milton Talent? Also, I have never seen in any of his bios the fact that he was adopted. What where the facts concerning his birth parents? Is he ashamed of these facts? Perhaps Senator Talent realizes that he could never get elected in such a conservative state if the good folk of Missouri thought he was raised by someone of the Hebrew faith. It just amazes me that someone could be one generation removed from his Jewish father to make the leap to become an Evangelical Christian. Well, whatever it takes to appeal to the good voters of the home state.
