Political Cortex: Brain Food for the Body Politic

Haven't we learned after the decimation of the Dark Ages when sadistic religious lunatics held sway that church and state is a recipe for disaster of every description?  Some of the most judgmental, ignorant leadership with minds warped and twisted dare to play the role of God and designate who is evil.

Actions speak louder than words.  2,574 U.S. service personnel have died in the infamous Iraq War with over 15,000 service members injured - and for what?  

A U.S.A. Today December 1 headline read:  "Don't Start Planning `Graceful Exit,' Bush says."  Beneath Bush's declaration it says, "Iraq prime minister predicts forces will be ready to command by June."

The article continues:

"Washington - The White House reacted coolly Thursday to the suggestion of early withdrawal of troops."

This response from the Bush Administration's usual defiance of all logic and reason, which if they would look at what they have accomplished in Iraq would agree with Henry Kissinger, who has clearly stated that the Iraq War is not winnable.

Remember the hit song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"?  For the disaster ridden Bush Administration this title could be paraphrased, "Oil Gets in Your Eyes," blurring you to reality.

The Arab world, having suffered through over 50 years of British and U.S. Middle East wars and non-lethal policies, has obviously declared, "Enough is enough."  

With estimates of 650,000 Iraqis dead and one million Iraqis escaping to Jordan to save their lives, they have witnessed what the U.S.'s so-called "freedom and democracy" drive is all about.

Finally, Colin Powell had the integrity to tell it like it is, "Iraq is in a civil war."  Once Saddam Hussein was thrown out of power, the Iraqis, who were discriminated against for years, took revenge.

Anyone with even a minimum knowledge of what happened in Rwanda, when the majority that suffered years of discrimination, happily killed around 750,000 fellow Rwandans that they felt had discriminated against them.

The Sunni and Shiite slaughter is similar.  Mr. Bush, where is the democracy?  Where is the freedom you boasted about bringing to Iraq?  

Your diplomacy is a disgrace to be considered acceptable for any U.S. leader, say nothing of the role you have assumed.  Give us a break!  Stop the horrifying deaths of U.S. service personnel.

If you must keep active, there are always those weeds at your Crawford ranch.  And if Congress truly has any regard whatsoever for the nation they represent, begin impeachment proceedings immediately.  

You have a wealth of reasons for this next vital step to end this nightmare of death, destruction and debt.
