Why on Earth Does George Bush Want to "Outsource" Homeland Security? Email Print

The message should ring loud and clear to anyone with sound judgment - Impeach George Bush before he does more damage.  How much damage can one Administration do before common sense, patriotism, and true conservatism take over?

We have just been informed that only 5 percent of the nine million containers that go through U.S. ports are being inspected.  Is that homeland security?  The Republican Administration has failed to be alert to Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged Louisiana and Mississippi.

The U.S.A. was never in any grave danger because Clinton had sex outside of marriage.  Nevertheless, the Republican hate machine went into high gear spending taxpayers' millions, with $30 million from Ken Starr's vendetta alone, to reek personal revenge on a Democratic president, all the while posing as moral guardians.

With the record of every kind of corruption going on in this Republican led Administration, the glaring spotlight on hypocrisy is evident for the eyes of the world to witness.

Don't run and hide!  Face up to lobbyists who successfully "bribed" so many - both Republican and Democrat - to buy votes.  Face up to the Halliburton overcharges.  Face up to the $8 billion unaccounted for in the Iraq War debacle.  Face up to the $8 trillion national debt.  Trying to scare Iraqis into a panic state from the hypocritical likes of Donald Rumsfeld is the very height of hypocrisy.

Shock and awe, a slogan like a B-movie ad, was coined to strike fear into the hearts of the Iraqis, whose nation had never, I repeat never, threatened the U.S.  Repeat this over and over, as it is a war that placed the leaders of the U.S., not in a place of respect, or distinction, but in the ranks of potential war criminals that might be tried at The Hague.

Of course, Geneva rules of conducting war had to be ignored by the "trespassing" brigade, as they weren't about to convict themselves.  When you watch Court TV, the familiar phrase of every criminal is, "I'm not guilty!"

The Republican Administration's congressional allies that voted for the Iraq War and listened to the arrogant State of the Union rant, are guilty of continuing to follow the leader who has led not only the U.S.A. into a path of darkness and delusion, but spread this tragic death and destruction both at home and abroad.  Where is the accountability for not being prepared to cope with national disasters?

The first thing the Republicans do is say, "We will investigate!"  The investigations morph into a finger pointing session and nobody is held accountable.

When lobbyist Jack Abramoff finally tells the truth about his scandalous conduct, we begin to get some idea of what kind of Administration we have; it is a government of the lobbyists, by the lobbyists and for the lobbyists who manipulate on behalf of big business.

Do they really want to stop this kind of "bribe" form of government?  No way!  They'll investigate as they hastily return bribe money to avoid censure.

Now, the issue is one we cannot ignore.  Bush has never had to veto the shenanigans he is involved with, such as tax cuts for the wealthy, while cutting off a lot of Medicare and Medicaid, and food programs for the hungry such as "meals on wheels".

There is no need to worry about our congressmen.  They have a nice cafeteria supplying their meals and snacks at a reasonable cost.  They have a great heath care plan.  They also have salary increases they vote for themselves.

As congressmen, they've accepted the bribes for the votes big business wants, while lobbyists hand out the necessary "bribe" money.  Is that the style of democracy men are fighting and dying for in Iraq and Afghanistan?

But now the latest wrinkle in this Administration's arrogant activities is "Let's rush this Port deal through fast!  We don't want to hurt their feelings as they might call it discrimination!"

We don't need to pay $9 billion of taxpayer money to have a firm in the United Arab Emirates oversee the security of the U.S.A.  If that is the Bush line of reasoning, and if that is the Republican line of reasoning, why not move Washington, D.C. and the Capitol Building to somewhere in Saudi Arabia?

Since the Carlyle Group with George Bush the Elder and Henry Kissinger see fit to spend so much time there, then perhaps this will coordinate business activity and save the taxpayers money.

The judgment of the Administration plunging us into an unnecessary war, while waving the flags and Bush chasing around to speak to the most carefully screened audiences, often service personnel, to hear their resounding applause should generate the following response from the segment citizenry that does not attend Bush's select function:

Impeach, impeach, and stop outsourcing homeland security!
