I Am Not Afraid Email Print

As an American and as a Democrat, I have something to say to the Bush Administration and the Republican Party:

Unlike you...

I am not afraid of your fear.
I am not afraid of terrorism.
I am not afraid of Osama.
I am not afraid of Saddam.
I am not afraid of Islam.
I am not afraid of negotiation.
I am not afraid of thought.
I am not afraid of consideration.
I am not afraid of accountability.
I am not afraid of respect.
I am not afraid of kindness.
I am not afraid of equality.
I am not afraid of women.

I am not afraid of race.
I am not afraid of homosexuality.
I am not afraid of charity.
I am not afraid of laughter.
I am not afraid of pain.
I am not afraid of sacrifice.
I am not afraid of sharing.
I am not afraid of education.
I am not afraid of science.
I am not afraid of the truth.
I am not afraid of the Constitution.

and I am certainly not afraid of you.

It's 2006. There is an election coming. Bring it on.

It should be "How long are you going to let these guys make you afraid?  How long are you going to let them get away with anything they want just because they promise to keep you 'safe.'  When are you going to show them that this is America, not just the land of the free, but the home of the brave!"

...the motivation for this. When are we going to stand up and say, "Enough of your fear! I am not afraid!"

to cause as much devestation to the world and erosion to America's reputation as this administration has done willingly and proactively.

We all know who the terrorists want to win in 2006 and 08. They're already sitting in the White House.

and for posting it.

Needs to be said, like a mantra, between now and next November.

For the record, Keith O. did a bit last night on the raising the fear flag again, a tactic which is now so transparent, even some in the traditional media are getting it.

Keith's allusions compared our times to that nadir reached in 1984 when the Police State had successfully co-opted the people's minds so they could no longer think for themselves.

All that Kool-aid takes a toll, and withdrawal probably won't be pretty to watch.

Never liked it, myself. I prefer my water pure, bottled, and transparent.

Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle. FDR
