Targeting the Worst and Most Vulnerable Republicans Email Print

The 2006 elections can be won, but only with considerable effort on our parts. We all know this. In an attempt to focus our attention and donations, I have compiled a list of the Republicans most deserving of being targeted right now. There are actually two lists. The first combines an Act Blue list of the ten weakest Republican incumbents with the National Journal's ranking of the comparative liberal/conservative votes of a Representative. That combination yields three particularly conservative and particularly vulnerable Republicans we all should target for defeat.

The second list targets the most conservative of the Republicans who voted against aid to Katrina victems. I figure the mixture of callousness and conservativism of these Republicans means we should target them simply out of principle regardless of how vulnerable they are. This analysis with links to Act Blue sites is below.

Targeting the WEAKEST and WORST Republicans:

These Republicans are among the ten weakest Republican incumbents and also score below 25 on the National Journal's "liberal score:"

Ranked from most conservative (least liberal) up:

CO-4: Musgrave, Marilyn: more liberal than 9.2% of the House

IN-9: Sodrel, Mike: more liberal than 11.7% of the House

AZ-1 Renzi, Rick: more liberal than 17.8% of the House

These three should be the TOP OF OUR LIST to target right now because they are among the most conservative 25% of the House and they are VULNERABLE. Please go to the ten weakest Republican Act Blue site and donate to defeat these three weak and miserable Republicans.

Targeting the most heartless Republicans: Though not among the weakest incumbents, these Republicans are among the 11 who voted against aid to the Katrina victims, though they willing to give Halliburton no-bid contracts without oversight, and they also score below 25 on the National Journal's "liberal score:"

IA-5: King, Steve: more liberal than 4.2% of the House

GA-8: Westmoreland, Lynn: more liberal than 5.8% of the House

NC-5: Foxx, Virginia: more liberal than 8.7% of the House

TX-6: Barton, Joe: more liberal than 13.8% of the House

NJ-5: Garrett, Scott: more liberal than 24% of the House

Sometimes a callous act like being one of only 11 Reps who voted against aid to Katrina victims can MAKE an incumbent vulnerable. So let's target these out of principle because they are among the worst of the worst. Please go to the Katrina 11 Act Blue site and donate to defeat these five heartless Republicans.

Together these two lists show eight of the Republicans we need to most target. Please join me in donating (or volunteering time if you live in these districts) to defeat these 8 Republicans.
