Imagine An Enemy Email Print

"Imagine an enemy that says: We will kill innocent people because we're trying to encourage people to be free....."

This is a direct quote from President Bush's news conference on March 21st.

Is that not exactly what President Bush and his supporters believe they are doing? Are they not accepting that in their quest to bring democracy to Iraq, they have killed between 30,000 and 150,000 innocent Iraqis? The estimates of dead civilians vary depending on who you ask, but even the President has accepted the lowball estimate of 30,000.

What more can an aspiring columnist write after Bush's comment today? I'll just close where I started, with the president's own words. "Imagine an enemy that says: We will kill innocent people because we're trying to encourage people to be free....."

I thought this was a Bush critic presenting his argument that the Administration's (most recent) rationale for the Iraq incursion.

They really do a great job acting as though they give a crap about the Iraqi people -- except for the 100,000 or so that they've killed of course.
