Political Cortex: Brain Food for the Body Politic

While this action was in the planning stages Dick Cheney was huddled in secrecy (as always) with executives of the nation's leading multinational corporations to divide up Iraqi spoils and determine where American taxpayer dollars would go once that the "smart bombs" accomplished their objective and "freedom" Cheney-Bush style reigned in Iraq.

Didn't you stop for a moment to consider George Bush's background?  First, consider that he was a heavy drinker until around 40 years of age.  Scientists tell us that drinking can destroy brain cells.  This is a factor that needs to be recognized.

How many of you Republicans or Democrats would trust your life savings in the hands of a man who has honestly admitted that he drank heavily until he was 40?  Did you stop to consider all the strong evidence that George Bush's rise to the presidency bore the tragic taint of fraud?  

Did you consider that his own brother Jeb, Florida's governor, who helped tip the balance in that crucial state, perpetrated much of the fraud?  

Without Jeb's timely assistance would Scalia and Thomas have been in a position to manufacture constitutional law and serve up the presidency to Bush?

Didn't you hear the voices of reason from UN weapons inspector Hans Blix and others that more time was needed to complete their weapons inspection?  

Was it imperative instead to listen to the panicky pleas of a former heavy drinker who gained the presidency through fraud and his right hand man, a Vietnam chicken hawk with a background of shady corporate dealings?  When they pushed the panic button did you need to follow like so many frightened robots?

Why did you appear to be deaf to any arguments but those of the tragically tainted?  Why were you deaf to anything other than the siren song of the warmongers of the Bush Administration?

When former Ambassador Joseph Wilson went to Niger and discovered that Saddam Hussein had never sought to acquire yellow cake uranium to advance his nuclear program, did you not see this revelation conflicting with the Bush Administration's opposite claim?

At that strategic moment of truth, if you were the least bit interested in truth, you had no excuse listening to Bush a moment longer as it was evident that he could not be relied upon to tell the truth.  

The die had been cast long before with war the objective.  Is the Bush Administration brain dead, deliberately dishonest, or both?  The so-called leak exposing Wilson's wife as a CIA operative was done by a Bush operative seeking revenge that, based on the evidence, found plenty of others on the team willing to aid that shameful cause.  

Revenge is sought for daring to expose the distortions of warmongers!  Anybody who gets in Karl Rove's way is an enemy who must be immediately destroyed!  What infuriates a propagandist like Rove more than a truth teller like Joseph Wilson?  The Bush Administration fears the truth above all else!

Bush played the role of the outraged president with patriotic fervor.  He declared emphatically that whoever was involved in the leak would be fired.  Will he now fire himself?  Can you ever imagine Bush firing Rove or Cheney?

The Seattle Times reported in its April 7, 2006 issue that former aide Irv Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Cheney's right hand man, linked Bush to "leaks of sensitive data."  The article referred to the leak exposing Joseph Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame.  Being revealed as a CIA agent exposed her to assassination.  

"Revenge is mine sayeth the Lord" is a famous biblical maxim.  George Bush claims to consult with his other father.  This has frightened many Americans, as we knew he actually meant God.  With the trail of terror and error, it appears he may have consulted with the dark force, the father of all lies according to the Bible.

The warmonger mindset of George Bush was obviously outraged that Joseph Wilson's research dramatically destroyed one of his most important reasons for going to war with Iraq.  It was now glaringly apparent that Bush was not interested in the truth in his rush to war in Iraq.

Why didn't others in the Bush Administration insist upon giving the weapons inspectors in Iraq the time they requested?  Why didn't they thank Joseph Wilson for his valuable research contribution?

It appears that a lockstep Republican war machine had rushed full speed ahead.  The Republican war machine thirsted for conflict.  Any objectors to that determined machine's war plans became hated public enemies.

Were the large numbers of Republicans and Democrats transformed into supplicant robots marching lockstep into the Iraq War debacle?

With a gang like this tragically in power in both houses of Congress it is no wonder that members have failed to perform a constitutional duty and begin impeachment proceedings against an Administration suffocating America in its unceasing pattern of lies and reign of callous and tragic error and greed.
