Rumsfeld Tries to Rewrite History Email Print

Hey!  At last trapped by his own words, words recorded on TV interviews prior to the Iraq War debacle.

Oh!  You can chase around he country trying to polish your tarnished image.  But Rummy, it won't work.

One dissatisfied individual in Atlanta challenged Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld point blank at a public forum, "You said you know where the weapons of mass destruction were located!"

But the record is clear, no matter how many times Rumsfeld denies making his dramatic declaration.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer on May 8, 2006, revealed, "On March 3, 2003, 11 days into the war, Rumsfeld was asked in an ABC news interview if he was surprised that American forces had not yet found any weapons of mass destruction.  `Not at all,' Rumsfeld said according to the official Pentagon transcript.  `We knew where they were.'"

Now we know that Rumsfeld didn't know where any weapons of mass destruction were located, and it was on the basis of this false declaration that U.S. service personnel have died and suffered injury.

How dare this failed defense secretary chase around the country using up a lot of airplane fuel, blowing hot air, and grimacing at people who dare to ask him to tell the truth.
