Halliburton and Friends: 86 % Raise Email Print

According to a new report, Henry Waxman has compiled a list of audits and investigations that find federal procurement spending has gone up 175 Billion dollars. Halliburton, the poster child for Bush's fraud and corruption campaigns, gained 600 %. So what does this mean for us?

How much longer can the culture of corruption last? Forever is the answer. There will always be greedy people, and there will always be greedy politicians to help them. But the damage can be minimized if all options are pursued and the corporation's friends are not in office.

When the wishes and wants of major corporations are more important then the wishes and wants of the average American, you know corruption is a major problem. Halliburton's stock has skyrocketed 600%, that is right, 600% since the illegal invasion of Iraq, and at this point there is little we can do. But at what point will this be fixed?

Only with the election of honest politicians. Not Democrats, certainly not Republicans (well maybe a few), HONEST politicians. Most of federal politics is lying, cheating, and stealing at this point, but that can be fixed. But only with the election of the right officials.

So when voting in Democratic primaries, ask yourself, is this person tied to big business? We want the grassroot candidates whose campaign funds come from the people who want to see him win for the good of the people, not for a tax cut or a federal contract.

This is old news to true progressives but we really need to voice this message to the greater democratic party, the moderates. We are running out of time to get rid of the culture of corruption, because another 6 years of G.O.P senators and 2 years of G.O.P house members will only make the "fun" more likely to continue. I don't want to look naive and say we can get rid of corporate corruption completly, but we can certainly expose it and attempt to stop it.

If we expose the nitty gritty details that Henry Waxman has compiled, it will make the Republicans look terrible. We always talk about corruption, but never accuse specific companies and contracts of being corrupt. It is time to point fingers and promote candidates to get rid of this garbage.
