Bush Vacations? Iraq Burns? Enough!! Netroots 'BIG MO' Must grow with NYBri and Ned Lamont!

Now take a deep breath and let loose with a Cheshire-cat smile as we celebrate for a moment the victory of people power in Connecticut. Clearly a message has been sent. People-powered Netroots is a force to reckon with even in its infancy.
The New York Times describes the election results as "a vivid demonstration of how the Iraq war is buffeting American politics and of the deep hostility toward President Bush among Democrats." It also "suggested there are stiff anti-status-quo winds blowing across the political landscape as the fall elections approach." Lamont's victory "marked the first time that liberal political blogs, after playing an increasingly noisy role in Democratic politics, have been associated with a major winning campaign, suggesting a moment of arrival for this new force in political combat."
And the USA Today writes "the depth of Democratic opposition to the war in Iraq coupled with a challenger who had personal wealth and the fervent backing of liberal bloggers denied Lieberman his party's nomination for a fourth term -- and launched a warning flare to some incumbents in both parties."
Of course, a battle has been won -- an immensely important one, but the war has just begun.
As Bush continues his extensive vacation while the terrorists plan for global violence, and while Republicans piss away hundreds of millions of dollars per day on an illegal invasion, the progressive netroots are paving the way to set things straight -- and the American people agree with them, NOT the war-mongering slobs in Washington.
These schmucks are in trouble and they know it. They can feel the anti-Republican Lieberdefeat shockwaves quaking through the nation's media airwaves.
They know that the Lamont victory is a stamp of political DOOM placed sharply on the GOP's sweaty forehead. Anyone who thinks their laughable claims of 'left-wing extremist' blither-blather will have any negative affect on the electorate is clearly already entrenched in their own right-wing cloud of extremist fear.
We have the Netroot momentum rolling. Now let's jack it up and keep it moving by showing our unadulterated support for the original Netroots candidate, Brian Keeler.
He's one of us. He understands what our vision of a Progressive Nation is. He shares our dreams, our fears, and our goals for America and the world.
In short, Brian Keeler and Ned Lamont are the types of leaders we want on the front lines of our progressive movement.
Fortunately, now that the Netroots message has once again been driven into mainstream America, we can focus on the bigger game -- the November elections. And as we do that, be sure to keep your eyes open for Netroots candidates across the nation and lend them a hand so they can help us achieve the dream of a truly inspirational, founding-father intended, All-American rebirth into a genuinely Progressive Nation...
One that seeks peace instead of war.
One that seeks true national security instead of trumped up fear of foreigners.
One that seeks opportunity instead of Crony Capitalism.
One that seeks rising prosperity instead of rising poverty.
One that seeks courage instead of fear.
One that seeks democracy instead of plutocracy.
One that seeks clean elections instead of black box voting.
One that seeks health care for all instead of health care for the wealthy.
One that seeks allies and diplomacy instead of enemies and provocation.
One that seeks understanding and clarity instead of confusion and secrecy
One that seeks an education system nurtured by innovation instead of one hobbled by punishment.
One that seeks breathable air, drinkable water and livable land instead of fatter CEO pockets
One that seeks respect for science instead of blind faith in desperate ideologues.
One that seeks freedom of choice instead of government control of bodily functions
One that seeks a living wage instead of larger corporate yachts.
One that seeks tolerance instead of prejudice
One that seeks medical breakthroughs instead of fundamentalist dogma.
One that seeks freedom of thought and expression instead of theocracy and loyalty pledges.
These are the types of things toward which we would move closer with Brian Keeler and Ned Lamont in office.
That's why it is so critical to keep the (NYBri) Brian Keeler, Lamont, and Netroots momentum rolling right through the November elections.

And for all those of you who don't think a state senate seat (or other local office) should matter to you, perhaps because you're not a resident of the state, think again! For example, in Brian Keeler's situation, New York is in a unique position to set a politically progressive precedent for all other states and the nation to follow.
Indeed, Attorney General Eliott Spitzer is currently crushing his would-be competition and is the likely next governor of the Empire State. Add to that the fact that the Democrats control the state assembly, and then you have left only one piece of the puzzle -- the NY State Senate, a house that needs Four Democrats to upend their Republican foes and take it back.
Imagine the precedents that could be set with Spitzer (a proven spine-full Democrat) at the helm supported and enhanced by a Democratic majority in both state houses, in a traditional blue state political powerhouse. Think of it.
That's what we need. And luckily, we have our very own Brian Keeler, endorsed by Eliot Spitzer and designated a 'Top Tier' race by the NY State DSCC!!
