2,725 votes: Al 'Landslide' Wynn Is Officially On Notice

Yes, a win is indeed a win. However, the point spread between Wynn and Donna Edwards doesn't exactly give the Congressman a mandate.
Indeed the 2% point difference between the two is downright stunning when you realise that Edwards is a brand new candidate and Wynn's been around for quite a while:
The unofficial tally for the 4th District race gave Rep. Albert Wynn 39,482 votes, or 49 percent, and Donna Edwards 37,174 votes, or 47 percent. George McDermott was a distant third with 3,113 votes, or 4 percent.--link
she remains "really troubled" by "multiple layers of failures" in the election. But she's no longer considering legal action."--link
I too am troubled by what happened.
On the upside...
What was supposed to be a 'walk in the park' for Al "Landslide" Wynn turned out to be a spirited campaign in which a fresh set of voices rang out against the tired old dirge of incumbency.
The people of MD-04 have spoken out for change. And although they faced a chorus of "Same Old...Same Old," those voices were heard above the din. Indeed, those voices continue to be heard as Wynn notes:
"I certainly appreciate the support of the people who voted for me, and I'm going to work harder to do a better job."
You had better do a bang up job, Mr. Wynn. Cause you sir, are On Notice:
The People of MD-04 deserve much better than what you've given. Consider this your Wake Up Call. Cause in my eyes, Donna Edwards and people powered politics whomped you but good.
Let's get moving...lots of great candidates out there to support.
(h/t: There are a lot of great diaries out there discussing Donna Edwards and the various aspects of the election crap/chaos that went down here in MD.
KEYWORDS: Donna Edwards, Al Wynn, MD-04, Dave Harris, elections
