Anti-Iran Scare Tactics a Re-Run of Iraq War Propaganda Email Print

An Associated Press story appearing in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer October 25 headlined this re-run scare campaign against Iran:

ANTI-IRAN RHETORIC HAS U.N.'S NUCLEAR WATCHDOG WORRIED

This revealing paragraph appeared in the story beneath the headline:

"The head of the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog said Sunday that he had no evidence Iran was working actively to build nuclear weapons and expressed concern that escalating rhetoric from the U.S. could build disaster."

After the U.S. invasion of Iraq the entire Middle East has been transformed into tragic turmoil.  Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates apparently didn't think the U.S. had generated enough hell in the Middle East with 2 ½ million Iraqis fleeing for their lives to Syria, Iran and Jordan.

Dr. Rice went to Russia and talked to Vladimir Putin to obtain an agreement to build missile defense systems on Russia's borders.   That idea, understandably, went over like a lead balloon.

Could this idea ignite Cold War II?

Having not been held accountable for launching the illegal and unneeded Iraq War, Bush warns about World War III.

Egypt now declares that it wants to develop nuclear power to use for non-war purposes.

Will Bush now propose attacking Egypt as a terror threat?

Stay tuned!

Yet somehow, despite the similarity in current US rhetoric and tactics to the Iraq war campaign, most Americans are still swallowing the idea that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an insincere madman whose weapons of mass destruction will threaten the civilized world within a few years.

I don't think Bush will attack Egypt as it is oil poor and allied to Israel. The US wants control of oil-rich countries such as Iraq and Iran. How long will it take for most Americans to figure this out?

Justin with your insight.  Hopefully the tide will keep turning against Bush and Cheney.  The polls are looking more favorable than ever and let's hope even more Americans finally wake up to the reality of what is happening.  Thanks for your comment.
