In the Los Angeles Times Calendar Section on Sunday September 30, the following letter to the editors captured my full attention:

"We will continue to support Move-On.org and feel that congressional Republicans' resolution against MoveOn.org was a distraction from the real issue, their unpopular support for a failed, endless war in Iraq."

The letter then focused on to the real issue involved in the Republican rant about MoveOn.org:

"We are confident that such attempts to stifle debate will only further energize the progressive movement and the effort to end the war in Iraq:"

The joint authors of the letter called the Republican assault on MoveOn.org "a frightening attack on free speech" and an outrageous attempt to intimidate a prominent organization opposing the Iraq War.

The letter was signed by the following:
