Division

The politics of opposition and division is an effort to cause methods or philosophies of governance to compete with each other. That supposedly reveals what the democratic choice is. Or is something else occurring - is democracy actually a front for something sinister?
This modern clash of culture or war of domination of the Middle East and its ridiculous wealth started a very long time ago. Conflict between East and West is as old as conflict between North and South. But instead of it being a war of domination it is a war for control.
The world may feel safer in the hands of a man like Bush, but it will be far safer when a more realistic philosophy guides the most powerful nation away from war.
The war in Iraq is opening old wounds from before WW1. Is this what is going to bring about the next step in some grand design or just wreak the lives of more citizens of planet Earth?
The USA may have felt the illusion of control of world events, but it does not seem that way finally, when you think about the results. The way to win a game of chess is not by some fluke you pull out of a hat at the last minute. It is careful planning. It is anticipating the next move by your enemy.
The end game is the hardest part to predict. What is new is America's and Pakistan's alliance or is it Bush and Musharrif's alliance that is just about to break?
