Al Gore Investing In The Future Email Print

This is an absolutely brilliant move on the part of Al Gore. With this move he will now be able to use the Nobel Peace Prize he will receive in a ceremony in Oslo next month to truly seek effective and expedient changes in how the world does business, which will hopefully foster peace.

Al Gore's next act: Planet-saving VC
The recovering politician is teaming with a legendary venture capitalist and bigtime moneyman to make over the $6 trillion global energy business. A Fortune exclusive.

Now, joining a venture capital firm may not seem like such a move, but when you look into what invesments are made and the motives behind them, in Mr. Gore's case it is indeed to further the truth that leads to action that leads to peace.

And it is also brilliant in that it will make those who have used the economy as an excuse to forestall progress take a second look and bring this inconvenient truth to them: they will either now shift or be left in the dust. So whatever your feelings about the climate crisis or capitalism, there is one factor in all of this that rises above it all: This is a crisis where all of us can not only benefit from such investments in working to preserve our planet and our very survival, but we are also profiting in ways that are positive for our children that are not just monetary. It is a win win situation.

Mr. Gore did a brief interview on this on NPR yesterday about this move. Suffice it to say that the questions in it once again eluded to running in 2008, and the idea that somehow no matter how many times this good man states his mind on this that it is taken to be either prevaricating, or being coy, or doing something behind the scenes other than what he is saying in public. And truly, enough is enough of that.

I read this morning that his staff mailed various groups looking to put his name on state ballots in Ca., NY, NJ, etc. telling them to cease such efforts. Why they would think this a shock especially regarding the arrogant way they actually went about it in sending a letter to his office telling him not to take his name off ballots they may get his name on is unfathomable to me. What did they expect? I have actually been listening to what he has said all of these months and know from years past and my own experiences that he is a man of his word. He isn't one to be coy about anything that important, and frankly, now that these efforts will be ceasing I hope we see more attention and support going to saving this planet and working to see a new vision because newsflash, it can be done from outside Washington Dc as well. Matter of fact, that is now the only way TO MOVE those in DC.

I for one believe that Mr. Gore has found the way to a new path, and I think that even though the scientific predictions are somewhat dire, that only applies if we stay stagnant. Now is not the time for distractions but for seizing the moment. Al Gore is doing just that and I couldn't be happier for him but more importantly I couldn't be more hopeful for the future. We can and will bring about that higher state of consciousness, and when that happens, Mother Earth will be forever grateful.

Thank you, Mr. Gore.
