"Vermont Activitists Want Bush, Cheney Arrested"

A picture appears with the accompanying story showing Kurt Daims, a Brattleboro, Vermont activist, who is leading the drive to make Bush and Cheney subject to arrest in the town.
The story reads as follows:
"Montpelier, Vermont - President Bush may soon have a new reason to avoid left-leaning Vermont. In one town activists want him subject to arrest for war crimes.
Leave it to the good old reliable mainstream media to dish out a huge dose of propaganda in a story. Vermont is called "left-leaning" for enforcing laws that the United States was instrumental in drafting obtaining passage at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial following World War Two.
To seek this kind of justice is neither "left" nor "right". It is following the rule of law as enunciated by the United States Constitution, into which the Nuremberg Codes were accordingly implemented.
The fact of the matter is there are international rules of law. The Geneva Convention specifies when one nation has the legal right to go to war against another nation.
George Bush stands in the world political spotlight at this moment. The eyes of the world's television viewers have witnessed George Bush declare that the United States was going to war against Iraq because we had proof that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction that threatened the U.S.A.
Going even further, to give the war machine billionaires cause for economic celebration, Bush in his historical dark moment made the dramatic claim that the U.S. had knowledge that Saddam was developing nuclear weapons.
After this horrifying disclosure Bush received a standing ovation and the cheering congressional leaders fantasized they were saving the world from Saddam's nuclear nightmare.
But the reality set in once all hell broke loose in Iraq when the prayers and songs asking God to bless America accompanied the "shock and awe" bombs that were falling on Iraq. Civilians were killed as the U.S. sought to locate and kill Saddam. The infrastructure went up in flames all over Iraq.
The U.S. was on a mission that administration officials compared to World War Two when U.S. freedom fighters did help save the world from Nazi takeover.
But the truth finally came out. There were no weapons of mass destruction. There was no nuclear power development threatening the U.S. at all.
Once Saddam Hussein was captured, fair-minded individuals demanded a just trial, one not orchestrated by propagandists seeking to cover up historical reality. Saddam had been backed for years by the U.S.A.
Saddam Hussein had been supplied with weapons to fight Iran for years. Twenty-three nations had negotiated deals for oil and multiple trade deals, including war materials.
Those who feared their complicity with Saddam's murderous rampage against any political opposition, including involvement in the deadly conflict with Iran, wanted the Saddam trial to achieve rapid conclusion so their dark deeds in supporting and supplying Saddam with war materials could be hidden. The trial was a swiftly concluded cover-up.
Now certain individuals in the U.S. want Bush and Cheney to be held accountable for what ex-Fed chief Alan Greenspan suggested the Iraq was fought for - "Oil"!
Some 600,000 to 1 million Iraqis died so the U.S. could obtain control of 63 of the nation's 80 oil wells by long term lease. Iraqis are being pressured to sign this contract.
A fear campaign based on lies propelled the U.S. into war.
Could Bush and Cheney be tried for war crimes at The Hague? Bush backers have resorted to self-delusion to escape accountability for what really happened under the guise of fear at first and delivering freedom and democracy after weapons fright faded.
Who will pay the price for an unneeded war? Who will pay the price for 2 ½ million Iraqis fleeing for their lives to Syria, Iran and Jordan?
Who will pay the price for the deaths of over 3,800 U.S. service personnel?
Who will pay the price for the wounding of over 55,000 combatants and non-combatants?
History reveals that for every action on this earth there is a reaction.
When and how the reaction for the Iraq War will occur nobody knows. But as sure as night follows day, there will be some sad response.
Wouldn't it make sense for U.S. citizens to demand that Bush and Cheney be investigated and tried for war crimes at The Hague?
By taking such action lives could be spared since many innocent citizens could be saved from reactions on the part of those who feel that grave injustices have been perpetrated on them by U.S. political leadership.
Would you like to pay the price for what this administration has done or do you feel that the individuals involved in perpetrating those wrongdoings instead be tried and, if found guilty, convicted of such crimes?
