Hillary, We See Why Certain Establishment Folks Like You

Barack Obama cut right through the charade with which the U.S. has been conducting its foreign affairs when he dramatically declared in this week's Democratic presidential debate co-sponsored by You Tube and CNN that, if he were elected president, he would speak with the leaders of Syria, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea without preconditions.
Obama made an incisive point in stating that cutting off communication with these countries does not help solve pressing international problems.
When asked for her response to the same question that Obama had answered, Hillary Clinton replied by quickly stating that she would not make any promises to meet with certain international leaders during her first year if she were elected president.
Wake up, Hillary. What has happened is hypocrisy of the highest sort at almost every level of the U.S. government.
The word "terrorist" has become as comical as a skit from a Saturday Night Live program.
You cast your Senate vote for invading Iraq, which did not pose an imminent threat to America. Like so many of your colleagues, you gave George Bush what amounted to a blank check to invade Iraq if he felt that America faced a threat to be victimized by imminent attack.
Yes, Hillary, you were ceding congressional authority in the realm of war declaration on the assumption that in an emergency George Bush would take the honest step.
When, Hillary, had Bush or Cheney given any indication that they would ever take the right step by anyone or anything outside the neoconservative global New World Order? Had Bush and Cheney earned their spurs for integrity?
Also, Hillary, on the subject of "power and prestige of the president" get real. You spout the kind of meaningless cliché that one could hear Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity ceremonially deliver on Fox.
American presidents, like all people, differ. In the Harding Administration we had Teapot Dome and other scandals hatched within the walls of the White House. How about the lies and cover-ups over Vietnam under Lyndon Johnson? How about Watergate and Richard Nixon?
More recently, what about the corporate marauders who met with Cheney, including Halliburton, where he had been its previous CEO, and who thereupon divided up prospective future profits in advance of the "shock and awe" invasion of Iraq?
As this campaign unfolds you receive praise from certain elements of the mainstream media for your cool expertise under fire and the way that you straddle the fence without alienating major segments of the electorate.
To those seeking meaningful change, this praise becomes understandable, as well as the fact that you appear to be a status quo candidate acceptable to many elements of a corporate mainstream that seeks continuity in the global march to a New World Order.
