Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!

"Bush's disastrous decision to invade Iraq unnecessarily and without a plan has, for all intents and purposes, resulted in a terrorist breeding ground there while his coddling of governments who shield terrorists, such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has made the world safe for them."
Ellerstein has no words of praise for the Democratic Congress. He explains that in his opinion they have kowtowed to Bush, which enables his charade of being a decisive and effective leader to continue.
Carol Schlesinger in that same edition of the New York Times explained her view on the latest surveillance law:
Fred Roberts, also in the Times on August 8, stated the following:
"To their shame, 16 Democrats in the Senate and 41 in the House voted to hand the president monarchical powers that the signers of the Constitution had withheld. The Fourth Amendment has served to safeguard citizens against warrantless searches and seizures; this president says instead: Just trust me."
In the August 5 letters to the editors of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Carol Davidek-Walter stated the following:
"You are not doing your job. You are not reporting on the gross criminality of our president and vice president. You are not explaining to the citizens of this country the gross abuses of power committed by this administration. You are not telling your readers the truth about the suspension of their rights. You are not telling your readers that the Constitution guarantees them the right to remove an abusive government."
This question must be asked: Why hasn't impeachment taken place long ago?
Willie Duroe in the same August 5 edition of the Post-Intelligencer emphasized the necessity of impeaching George Bush:
"The common excuse from Congress is that impeachment is unlikely to succeed. So what! The impeachment process will educate the American public and malfeasance and incompetence of this administration. Second, it will keep the president and vice president so busy fighting subpoenas they will have less time to plot further crimes."
Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!
