Yes, History of Vietnam Repeats Itself in Iraq Email Print

In Time's September 17, 2007 edition, Dan Neil writes:

" ... (Robert) McNamara, who became President Johnson's Secretary of Defense and refused to recommend withdrawing from Vietnam, even though he knew a lemon when he saw one."

In September 2007 Bush and his Republican backers refuse to recommend withdrawal even though they know what a colossal mistake it was to launch the Iraq War.

Only 4 percent in a recent Zogby Poll think we should stay in Iraq.  These respondents recognize that the war was a disastrous mistake.

More than 50 percent of respondents in that same Zogby Poll revealed their belief that   democracy will not come to Iraq.

If Bush and his Republican cohorts along with complicit Democrats were all held accountable for what death, destruction and debt their Iraq war decisions wrought they would resign in shame.
