What 9/11 Victims and Families Truly Deserve: An Independent Investigation 
Ranking at the top is a duty we owe to the victims of the tragedies and their families as well as loved ones, an independent investigation of the events that occurred on that unforgettable day.
First of all, we must take note of the fact that the Official 9/11 Commission that was ultimately convened and delivered a report was established only after the pressures on Dick Cheney and George W. Bush became insurmountable.
Who could forget Cheney's words on the subject? According to Cheney we should not investigate 9/11 since it would only take time and precious resources away from fighting terrorism.
When Cheney and Bush finally relented it was essential to note that they were questioned by Commission members in closed session and in tandem. Bush was clearly not going to be questioned without the more factually astute Cheney's presence.
A thorny question continues to prickle the public consciousness pertaining to the 9/11 Commission. Why were the whistle blowers ignored? They were eager. Numerous spokespersons of the families and loved ones of the 9/11 dead have frequently indicated their eagerness to hear from them.
Special Agent Coleen Rowley of the FBI's Minneapolis office was deemed significant enough to be named Time Magazine's "Person of the Year" but yet was not asked to testify before the Official 9/11 Commission.
The same can be said of her fellow whistle blowers who, Condoleezza Rice's famous comment notwithstanding, provided all kinds of information that a major aerial assault might indeed be forthcoming.
There are so many unresolved questions. How about the 9/11 on the scene footage? The official version, consistent with that propounded by the mainstream media, would have us believe that the aircrafts that crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center caused all of the damage, setting off the resulting fires.
Numerous people on the scene, as evidenced on film footage, shouted out that explosions were occurring. The sounds of repeated explosions can be frequently heard throughout the buildings within the sound track of such footage.
We could explore much further, as so many technical experts and concerned, analytical citizens have done.
The answer is clear. Americans need to demand answers to the important question of what happened on 9/11.
Only a comprehensive and independent 9/11 investigation will resolve this vital question.
