Why do Almost all Presidential Candidates not Talk of Impeaching George Bush? Email Print

Are they spineless robots who have allowed what many consider the worst president ever to freely exercise his will, bending their wills endlessly to this all-time presidential loser?

Why don't political presidential candidates avoid talking about plunging the U.S. into the Iraq War on the basis of lies and assorted misrepresentations?

Why don't they lash out at the brazen propaganda fear campaign based on that State of the Union declaration that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and the U.S. had proof that Saddam was developing nuclear weapons?

That State of the Union fear propaganda that launched the U.S. into the Iraq War is a day that will live in infamy, a day when the congressional robots jumped to their feet to give the bearer of this false message a standing ovation.

One might forgive those congressional members who couldn't fathom the depth of deception that this Republican administration was capable of, but what cannot be forgiven is failing to impeach what some international leaders consider that Mr. Bush ruthlessly violated international law by invading Iraq through deception.

These leaders believe that Bush has strengthened al Qaeda.  No nation wants terrorists threatening, killing and destroying.  That is why there is anger at what Bush's Iraq War has done.  Has the tragic consequence of Iraq's 600,000 to 1 million deaths made friends and influenced Arabs?

Hardly!  When 2 ½ million Iraqis have run to Syria, Jordan and Iran, how in the name of God, Allah or anybody else's deity can bombing the hell out of a nation for no legitimate reason be considered acceptable.  Don't international laws regarding war have any meaning?

Were treaties that the U.S. agreed to at the Geneva Convention scoffed at?  Has the U.S. leadership abandoned civilized society's rules?

In the Seattle Times January 1, Kathryn Kelly of Seattle wrote a logical letter, which was headlined:  "Bush's Veto is the Act of a Spoiled Child."

Then Kathryn Kelly wrote:

"I am dumbfounded at the response of Congress to President Bush's recent veto of the huge defense bill because it contained a single provision he didn't like.  Who would have thought that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, mother of five, would fail to recognize this behavior?"

Roger Kelley of Bow, Washington wrote in the January 1 Seattle Times:

"Regarding the issue of water boarding please add my name to the list of those who are appalled by this practice.  I have always taken for granted many of the values I thought were part of our nation's heritage and foundation.  I considered these values as unchallengeable.  The U.S. has been propelled into the largest crisis in its history because of the actions of this administration."

In a poll taken of Democratic voters in Iowa, 93% are angry at Bush and this administration.  Whether it is the Iraq and U.S. death statistics, the demolition of the Iraq infrastructure, or the debt U.S. taxpayers must pay someday, which is rapidly approaching $10 trillion, someday, somebody must be held responsible!
