Iraq Forbids U.S. Using Iraq as Base to Attack Other Nations

"The Iraqi government demanded changes on Wednesday to the long-delayed security pact with the United States. The amendments would ban American troops from using Iraqi territory to carry out attacks on other countries, further limit when the troops would have immunity from Iraqi laws and allow inspection of American arms shipments.
"The amendments come just days after the United States sent American commandos over the border into Syria in what was by far the boldest attack there by special operations forces in the five years since the United States invaded Iraq. There have been increasing signs of discontent among powerful Iraqi political parties with the agreement, including some that had negated the draft pact."
Perhaps American negotiators are unaware of the fact that Baghdad had been attacked by the Roman Empire centuries before. That illustrates the refusal of Baghdad to be overrun by the powerful Roman Empire and refusal to surrender. They burned everything and the Romans fled back to Rome, defeated for the first time.
As Sam Dagher's Times article continues:
"The Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said the government had decided that the wording of the current draft agreement was too vague on the immunity issue. Under the current draft, American military personnel would be guaranteed immunity from Iraqi law, except in cases of serious or premeditated felonies outside official duties. Mr. Dabbagh said Wednesday that the Iraqis would like that immunity to be granted only when the soldiers were on duty with Iraqi counterparts on joint missions."
The United States is rushing to obtain this signed agreement because the United Nations Security Council resolution that authorizes the American mission in Iraq expires December 31.
Every politician world-wide is fully aware that Iraqi oil was nationalized under Saddam Hussein.
As the world sees the billions raked in by the U.S. oil giants, they cannot help but ask a disturbing question.
Was the Iraq War, which we now know was based on an assortment of lies, in truth about one 3-letter word, oil?
The long-lease contract for foreign oil rights to 63 of Iraq's 80 oil wells cannot help but raise serious questions regarding the entire Iraq War.
In conclusion, John McCain's slanted talk about the surge of U.S. soldiers working wonders to achieve peace is not true. In Iraq the killing rages on in the longest, costliest war in U.S. history, including World War Two.
With White House resident George Bush's popularity down to 27% and but 9% of Americans believing that America is on the right track, why hasn't this discredited, least popular president been impeached?
As Sam Dagher notes:
"The head of Wasit's provincial counsel (Wasit is a largely Shiite province of about one million people southeast of Baghdad) Mohammed Hassan Jabber, fears that simmering tensions between Shiite political parties here and across Southern Iraq could quickly erode recent gains. The latest struggle pitted Prime Minister Nori Kamal al-Maliki's Dawa Party against the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Party."
