McCain "Spiritual Adviser" Claims America Created in Part to Destroy Islam

One point needs to be abundantly clear to Hannity and all the other right wing propagandists exploiting the "Wright issue." These well paid zealots harp on an extreme compilation of over 30 years of Wright sermons into a 10 to 15 second sound bite. Even they needed to be taken out of context to deliver the intended resounding message.
It is necessary to take nothing out of context to analyze the McCain spiritual advisers that he continues to retain in his ranks. John Hagee calls Catholicism "the great whore" and asserts that New Orleans residents had been punished by God for having scheduled a gay pride parade. He looks forward to what he sees as a God-ordained nuclear war known to the reverend and his followers as "rapture."
Reverend Rod Parsley of Columbus, Ohio is another McCain spiritual adviser who speaks in harsh, raging tones of doctrinal self-righteousness. Parsley fashions himself as something of an historian as well as he informs listeners blisteringly that "one of the reasons" why America was created was to "destroy Islam."
What were they really trying to tell us?
How delighted Parsley and Hagee would have been had the Constitution emerged as a gigantic document espousing witch hunts, the types that were eventually initiated in Salem, Massachusetts.
I recall from early boyhood a painting that affected so many of a serene appearing Jesus Christ ministering to a flock of sheep. This is the symbol I chose to accept as Christianity at its most loving and caring, the expression of love for fellow creatures one and all.
Parsley and Hagee call for hate mongering rather than the kindness and caring replete in the sermons of Christ and the psalms. Parsley zeroes in particularly on believers of Islam, such appropriately vulnerable targets since 9/11, which, incidentally, has still not been investigated by the U.S. Government in an independent manner.
Reverend Parsley in his omniscient manner has taken it upon himself to settle the issue of rights of worship. Clearly, while Christians have a right to worship, he exorcises Muslims for their belief that Muhammad received visitations from God or Allah.
Parsley does not deny that Muhammad received visitations. He questions their source, informing all willing to listen to him with smug, seething self-assurance that Muhammad was visited by Satan.
Reverend Parsley, whenever you disagree with another's spiritual viewpoint, use the old reliable technique that Jonathan Edwards employed with his "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" sermon and those that branded as "witches" in Salem individuals they could not fathom as being influenced and controlled by Satan.
If you really believe that Muslims have all been tragically manipulated by the devil, Reverend Parsley, then perhaps you see as some form of divine revenge from an "angry God" the report from the British Journal Lancet that 1.2 million Iraqis have died since the first of the Donald Rumsfeld "shock and awe" attacks were launched.
The current figure, in case of you haven't noticed, Reverend Parsley, is that 2.5 million Iraqis have fled their homes and flooded the borders of countries neighboring Iraq.
Have they also been victimized as an act of revenge by an angry God?
On the other side of the coin, Reverend Parsley, were those meetings held in secret in Vice President Dick Cheney's office to divide up profits for an Iraq War campaign before the first "smart bombs" that were said to be capable of distinguishing between good and bad targets and good and bad people were dropped, consecrated by God?
Was God truly on the side of the company that continued to pay Cheney handsomely while he served as Vice President, Halliburton, along with Bechtel and the rest of the prospective profiteers, all doing God's work?
Reverend Parsley, shall we pass the tambourines and shout "amen" and "hosanna" as we sing the praises of Cheney and Halliburton for initiating God-ordained acts against infidels?
