Steven Jones Calls for 9/11 Criminal Investigations

Based on evidence of what he believes is unignited thermite particles in debris collected within minutes after the collapse of the World Trade Center's first tower, retired BYU physicist Steven Jones called for a criminal investigation into the destruction of three World Trade Center high rises in a speech at a 9/11 conference in Boston. In the first of a series of videos to be released from the Second Annual Boston Tea Party & Conference for 9/11 Truth, Dr. Steven Jones made public for the first time the results of his tests on "red chips" found in dust collected within minutes of the total collapse of the first two World Trade Center Towers.

In his presentation, "9/11 Research: High Temperatures, Iron-Rich Spheres, and Another Discovery," Jones discussed the history and chain of custody of three samples of dust, the last being collected from the pedestrian rail of Brooklyn Bridge by university student Frank Delessio as he was fleeing the area approximately 10 minutes after the collapse of the North Tower.

Jones' electron microscopy study of what he calls an "uncontaminated dust sample" revealed the presence of red chips in the dust. An XEDS spectrum analysis showed one side of the chips to contain the chemical signature of Thermite, which can produce short bursts of high temperatures and is used in welding and cutting steel.

Results of Jones' tests have been replicated by other scientists, and Jones has sent samples to independent labs for further confirmation. If the presence of the incendiary thermite is confirmed, Jones said, it would be strong grounds for opening a full-scale "criminal investigation."

Jones is founding editor of the Journal of 9/11 Studies, a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to scientific examination of the events of 9/11. He also recently authored the first article on 9/11 to be published in a peer-reviewed civil engineering journal, The Open Civil Engineering Journal (TOCEJ). The article is entitled "Fourteen Points of Agreement with Official Government Reports on the World Trade Center Destruction" (18 April 2008).

Forthcoming videos from conference presenters will include Joel S. Hirshhorn, Ph.D., a metallurgical engineering professor and former senior staff member of the Congressional Office of Technology; Richard Gage, AIA, and found of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth; and Barbara Honegger, military analyst, former aide to President Reagan and author of the recent "The Pentagon Attack Papers" (link to pdf).

I could not agree more that there certainly needs to be a new investigation of 9/11. But it needs to be totally independent from the D.C. government, as it could, now, be said that many in the federal government could be considered complicit, given that they have done nothing even as more and more legitimate evidence comes to light and more respectable people call the official story into question.

No more of the usual white-washers either. Those of us who have watched the government for over 1/2 a century know who they are. They are both Democrat and Republican and it is their job to keep the truth about an administration's worst crimes against the people from them. I believe that some of them do this with the best of intentions, but then the road to hell is paved with the good intentions.

We, the people can handle the truth. We, the voting people, are not children. Most of us already know the simple truth that the official conspiracy theory is one of the nuttiest ones out there.

I am convinced that this country will never recover from the past 40 years, especially the last 8 horrendous years, until the whole truth is out about everything. So much crapolla has been swept under out national carpet that it now looks like the swiss alps, it's so nasty that the neighbors are complaining about the smell and we all know that if the public health people show up, the entire place will be condemned.

We, the people, must insist on truth now. We cannot go on without transparency, authenticity and the wisdom to re-create our nation. But we cannot possibly know where we are going or how to get there until we know the truth about our past.

We have been lied to so much by the government, by corporate Teevee commercials, by the traditional news media (corporate-owned of course) and by untold numbers of others that we, more or less, expect to be told lies, especially by our leadership. It has become a matter of how big the lie is and the motive behind it that guides our voting behavior.

Sad damned state of affairs, don't ya think?

The people should come up with their own manifesto, in which it should be stated that if we catch our public officials lying to us about anything having to do with their official duties, we will put them in stockades on the national mall for 30 days, during which time the people can throw rotten veggies and fruit at them for a buck a pop. This plan might go a long way toward settling the national debt, especially if we include news media types, who are supposed to be truth-digging, not just repeating the lies of our government officials like twisted dummies and, while we are at it, lets add corporate officers to that list.

One way of getting at the truth of 9/11, however, is to examine all we know about the anthrax attacks, which is very little, as the investigation has been put on the "backest" of burners ever since it was discovered that the anthrax used in the attacks came from our very own bio-weapons lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland. There was the attempt, by John Ashcroft, to frame the scientist, Hatfield, who was having none of it. I have no idea whether he did it or not, but my hunch is, he knows too much and is now too well known for the government to mess with.

Remember the attempted assassination of members of our congressional leadership (all targets were Democrats), and the attempted murder of several of the so-called liberal media? If you do, it's quite amazing since no one ever talks about it. Not even during the days when George W. Bush could not utter two sentences without "9/11" being in one of them and Dick Cheney was hiding in an undisclosed location, did we hear anything about anthrax. (Of course, we now know that Old Darth was at home putting the final touches on the plans for the illegal, immoral invasion and occupation of Iraq.)

Why are the Bushies so afraid of the anthrax attacks that they dare not mention it?

Does anyone else ever wonder why the anthrax attacks are never mentioned by the fear-mongers when that event was probably scarier to most people than 9/11, itself? Hey, terrorism is terrorism in my book. I don't give a flying rats arse who did the terrifying, I want them found and exposed!

My strong hunch is that if we find out who was behind the anthrax attacks, we will also know who, in and around our government, was complicit in the events of 9/11. The two are irrevocably tied together in my mind by at least one piece of knowledge gleaned on a search I was doing several years back. Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request for any and all communications about the White House staff being prescribed Cipro in the evening or afternoon of 9/11/01, a month before the first anthrax victim was known, but on the day of the terrorist attacks on NYC and the Pentagon.. (As most of us know, Judicial Watch is anything but a left-wing hit squad. They went after Clinton like he was serial killer, not just a serial adulterer)

The White House blew them off, just as they do everyone, including Congress. Nevertheless, there were several news reports about it at the time and there are plenty of people who know, of course, but Bush has slapped a national security or a states secrets label on the matter and no one can talk without facing loss of employment, huge fines and prison time. There is also the small matter of the fact that treason during a time of war can bring on the death penalty.

Congress should reascend the war resolution and begin an all out investigation of the anthrax attacks. But, they won't. They care more about their own cushy jobs and power than they do about the country or us, the people they are suppose to be serving. Besides, who knows what the Bush administration has on any or all of them. After all, the Bushies have been wiretapping everyone for over 7 years.

Maybe I'm wrong and they are only waiting for Bush and Cheney to leave office. I hope I am wrong. I hate being right these days. It is cold comfort, indeed.

attacks, I had always wondered why an obscure journalist at an obscure newspaper in Del Ray Beach, Florida, was targeted. Then I found out he had published some unflattering material about the Bush Twins' drinking habits after being asked not to by the Bushies.
If anyone else can any other information about why he was targeted, I sure would like to hear it.
Thanks for your detailed response. I would also add the death of Paul Wellstone and the OKC bombings as subjects deserving investigation.
