Way off message. Palin endorses Obama's energy plan

Palin said she liked also Obama's proposed cash rebate for those struggling with fuel costs.

This can't be what the McCain folks had in mind for the pick for vice-president.
It's getting clearer now with each passing hour that John McCain and his team never checked Palin out carefully.
They did not visit Alaska, speak to associates, family or scour the records ahead of the announced pick.
So far we know this. McCain picked a person who has less than 2 years experience in statewide office, whose energy and even Iraq policy sounds closer to Obama's than to McCain's. Who in January 1997 set out to fire the police chief and city librarian (Irl Stambaugh and Mary Ellen Emmons) because they had supported former incumbent mayor John Stein in his re-election bid in 1996.
Palen later relented on the librarian and allowed her to stay, but not before Palin had a heart-to-heart with Emmons about "censorship" issues. For the record, Palin said the discussion/inquiry was only hypothetical or rhetorical.
The summary personnel notice to city workers was a harbinger of the ethics investigation that's come up for the Governor this summer to examine the 2 dozen calls and emails made by Palin's aides, her husband and herself to Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, that were pressing him to fire Palin's sister's ex-spouse, just before the Governor booted Monegan too.
According to Andre w Halco, McCain's vetters are just arriving in Wasilla now, post-selection, to learn things firsthand.
We seem to have here a politician who uses power for personal vendetta for hiring-firing (Justice Dept. redux?), and then denies political interference.
Not such a straight shooter after all.
Here's the full statement extolling Obama's energy proposal.
KEYWORDS: John McCain, Sarah Palin
