What on Earth Are You Trying to Do, Mr. Obama? Email Print

Social Security recipients in 2010 will be cheated out of cash they deserve.

The annual cost of living increase will not rise for the first time since they began being calculated yearly for seniors on Social Security.

This injustice has been accomplished through an accounting cheating system.  The soaring cost of health care and gas are not included within the cost of living scale, thus giving a completely false calculation.

How interesting that congressional salaries, however, have increased while Social Security payments did not.

When the Obama administration speaks of the so-called health care reform, which will include a large Medicaid funding increase, recipients will not we able to obtain a larger income than before and yet receive free health care, all paid for by the federal government.

Where is all this money coming from, Mr. Obama?  The planners tell us that $500 billion will be cut from Medicare for senior citizens and simply transferred to Medicaid for the poor, and even help the funding of health care for the American millions unable to afford the so-called affordable health care costs.

Let's face the reality for once!  With 35 million unable to feed themselves and their families, and the U.S. government now giving them an average of $245 a month, they are hardly in a position to pay for health insurance.

What about the 15 million unemployed Americans?  They cannot afford any health insurance.

As if transferring $500 billion from senior citizens' Medicare to those Americans unable to afford any health insurance wasn't enough of a hit for Medicare, there is even more destruction in the works.

Medicare doctors are now being asked to take a 21 percent cut in their fees.  This mandates that doctors who are already having a case caused overload of Medicare patients forcefully declare that they will quit accepting Medicare patients if this unfair fee cut ever takes place.

This blatant attack on a medical program designed for retired senior citizens having to accept $500 billion of Medicare funds transferred to millions of younger people whose health care costs, when they are still able-bodied and working, is not fair.

The New York Times on October 30 in an article by Julia Preston included the following:

"The U.S. may be open to claims of abused women.  In an unusually protracted and closely watched case, the Obama administration has recommended political asylum for a Guatemalan woman fleeing horrific abuse by her husband, the strongest signal yet that the administration is open to a variety of asylum claims for foreign women facing domestic abuse."

Has the U.S. now become able to fund asylum of every woman in the world who claims her husband has abused her?

Mr. Obama, isn't it enough to continue fighting two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as fighting in Pakistan's civil war?

With the biggest national debt skyrocketing, a debt greater than all prior U.S. national debts combined since the U.S was wounded, add two continuing wars, 171 U.S. bases around the world where personnel are stationed is costing billions as our economic structure collapses.  What on earth is driving you on, carrying the U.S. to the brink of bankruptcy?

The two $700 billion plus so-called "stimulus packages" with no limits on bankers' bonuses or salaries proves that Congress is as corrupt as the bankers they bail out.

With 3.5 million on food stamps and 15 million unemployed, is it rational for the U.S. to borrow money we pay interest on and to send taxpayers' cash all over the world, even to countries like Israel, which has a surplus?

However, there is one challenging situation that must be stopped.  Listen up, Obama, if you could form a coalition of nations and stop the lawless pirates off the African coast from capturing vessels and kidnapping civilians and holding them for ransom, that would be a much needed end to these horrific, ruthless piracy acts.

The world would have to acknowledge that you indeed do deserve that Nobel Peace Prize with which you have been honored.

According to a New York Times article on October 30 by Jeffrey Gentleman and Mohammed Ibrahim datelined from Nairobi, Kenya:

"Somali pirates said Thursday that they had moved a British couple seized from their sailboat to a container ship anchored off Somali's lawless shores, and that they would 'protect' the captives until a ransom was determined."

The article also revealed the following:

"Last year Somali pirates earned upwards of $100 million seizing ships and ransoming back the hostages."

The U.S. invaded Iraq on a series of calculated lies, claiming that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam Hussein was developing nuclear power.

Was all this done because Iraq was sitting on a third of the world's oil supply?

Why won't a coalition of nations stop the pirates?

Isn't there enough oil under their soil?

Think it over!
