Prepare for the Inevitable Attack

"Oh!" they'll whine, "See what the 'blame-America-first' crowd is doing. They're coddling the enemy. They're providing loving, nurturing support for the terrorists. It's time they shut their mouths and support our president. There's no room for political dissent in America anymore."
Inevitably, they'll quote bin Laden:
...I plan to speak about the repeated errors your President Bush has committed in comments on the results of your polls that show an overwhelming majority of you want the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. But he (Bush) has opposed this wish and said that withdrawing troops sends the wrong message to opponents...
"Doesn't get any clearer than that!"
Already the stream of debris is flowing. Here's a tiny sampling:

'Boldness' as a Political Tactic

The White House "will this week step up efforts to defend its policy on the Patriot Act as well as its controversial decision to conduct domestic surveillance on US citizens without a warrant from a judge, in the face of mounting concerns from civil liberties groups." On Tuesday, Bush "will take part in a meeting on the Patriot Act," and on Wednesday, "he will make a statement on the 'war on terror' at the Pentagon." As "part of a coordinated approach, Dick Cheney, vice-president, will also give a speech about terrorism."
Although his own party is set to investigate the scandal, while the traditional media writes that the controversy "may have put a crimp in Bush's plan to climb back on top of the agenda as the new legislative session begins.", and that Bush and Cheney never thought twice about ignoring the U.S. Constitution (i.e. that 'Goddamn piece of paper'), the administration plods forward, never bothered by the technicality of potential consequences.

Tactic: Every Word Matters -- Using 'Keywords' as a Political Tactic

Gingrich's positive words for Republicans (hold your nose)
"Active, activist, building, candid(ly), care(ing), challenge, change, children, choice/choose, citizen, commitment, common sense, compete, confident, conflict, control, courage, crusade, debate dream, duty, eliminate good time in prison, empower(ment), fair, family, freedom, hard work, help, humane, inventive, initiative, lead, learn, legacy, liberty, light, listen, mobilize, moral, movement, opportunity, passionate, peace, pioneer, precious, premise, preserve, principle(d), pristine, pro-flag, pro-children, pro-environment, prosperity, protect, proud/pride, provide, reform, sights, share, strength, success, tough, truth, unique, vision, we/us/our, workfare"
Particularly entertaining was the inclusion of such words as "Eliminate good time in prison", "peace" and "pro-environment". No. They did not include "Audacity" in their "pro-Republican" word list. Anyway, Newt continues with his choice of words to describe the opposition.
Perhaps what they meant to list were "Eliminate peace and the environment" and "pro-prison"?

Tactic: Describe your Opponent with 'Words of Weakness'

She was referring to Republicans' release of a Web video "showing a white flag of surrender waving over Democrats like Howard Dean and Sen. John Kerry to highlight their negative comments about US soldiers in Iraq this week,." According to the New York Post, the video is intended "to use the Democrats' own words to press the idea that they favor a 'retreat and defeat strategy.'"
In doing so, Susan hit upon a much larger tactical maneuver that Republicans have implemented religiously over the years. It's one that applies universally and effectively to all situations.
Fortunately, it also applies to Republicans - particularly those who follow the 'Strict Father' model of Morality.
So here's what we should do...
